bikerjohn Posted January 2, 2009 #1 Posted January 2, 2009 Where can i find the price of a LED tail light. I have a chance to buy one at a discount price, wanted to check to se if it is a good price. John
slick97spirit Posted January 2, 2009 #2 Posted January 2, 2009 I paid about 25 bucks for mine. Mine blinks off and on when hitting the brakes and rotates when not applying the brake.
Gary N. Posted January 2, 2009 #3 Posted January 2, 2009 http://radiantz.com/cart/index1.html?c16.html&1 This is the one I used. I kept the red lense and it works great.
Roadhand Posted January 2, 2009 #4 Posted January 2, 2009 Bought mine from Signal Dynamics. Looks to be the same as what Gary purchased.
Carbon_One Posted January 2, 2009 #5 Posted January 2, 2009 Had the one from Signal dynmanics as well. You won't find a better tail light. I too used it with the red lens. It's a HUGE improvment over the stock bulb for sure. Larry
CMIKE Posted January 2, 2009 #6 Posted January 2, 2009 I first had a couple of the LED bulb that goes in a circle for a running light and does the back off flash when the brake was applied. I had one in my RSMV and my son's VStar. I was following him and could not really get a big distinction if the brakes were on or not. I replaced the RSV with one from custom Dynamics. Easy to install...about $58-59. it has the Genesis LED's that are really bright. http://www.customdynamics.com/Yamaha_tail_retro.htm I removed the swirly LED from the Vstar and replaced it with a 2057 which is brighter than a 1157 till I can do better. I will sell these 2 swrilly LED's if someone wants to try them. Used very little
stvmaier Posted January 3, 2009 #7 Posted January 3, 2009 I just installed the one that CMIK gave you a link to. It's amazing, way better than I expected. I also installed the brake light modulator at the same time.....worth every penny!!!
N3FOL Posted January 3, 2009 #8 Posted January 3, 2009 I just ordered the same Genesis LED tail light for the Venture a few minutes ago. Originally I was going for the HD 68230-97B auxilliary light, but I kept changing my mind. I like it this way, since I did not have to mess with the wiring of my Venture. Your post inspired me to purchase one.
MAINEAC Posted January 3, 2009 #9 Posted January 3, 2009 I think some people are refering to a L.E.D. bulb... http://www.global-b2b-network.com/direct/dbimage/50279488/LED_Bulb.jpg Those don't work real well in a RSV because the bulb is aimed straight up... The circuit board type LED I bought on ebay with a smoked lens for $60 but it didn't have any white lights on top to light up my plate... So I got a LED plate frame that works real nice but cost an extra $35... http://clearalternatives.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/LED-38-IT.jpg http://www.highgearhobbies.com/estore/images/CTL/CTL-0038-S.jpg http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31J0V0u6%2BLL._SL500_AA280_.jpg
N3FOL Posted January 9, 2009 #10 Posted January 9, 2009 I just installed the one that CMIK gave you a link to. It's amazing, way better than I expected. I also installed the brake light modulator at the same time.....worth every penny!!! I installed my Custom Dynamics LED Taillight this morning. The difference is really very noticeable during the day. On my way home tonight, it is really bright as a running light and much more brighter once I use my brakes. This is money well spent:mo money:. My led lamps for the front and rear Amber also arrived yesterday and will be installing them tonight. I also ordered the Signal Conditioner as a kit. Hopefully the flashing is not too fast...if it is...I will have to install the signal conditioner at a later time.

Thanks for any help. Craig
MAINEAC Posted January 9, 2009 #12 Posted January 9, 2009 No I don't... But all I did was turn the key on and poked my tester into the wires until I found one that lit the bulb and used that... You're gonna love the lighted frame it does a blue-white glow to the back of the bike... http://www.annco.com/products/images/web/tg-01057300.jpg
Moped Posted January 9, 2009 #13 Posted January 9, 2009 Cecdoo, the running light wire is blue, the brake light wire is yellow.

Seaking Posted January 17, 2009 #16 Posted January 17, 2009 I used this one on my V star and it was great.I sold it when I upgraded the tail light but am planning on getting another one soon. it is great and has the license light http://motoled.com/shop.html I have of the first prototypes he put out.. has a dual plug inside for normal intensity lighting and insanely blinding lighting.. hehe.. of course I keep it on high all the time.. it's brutally intense and wide angled.. I took it off the VStar and put it on the venture right away.. (VStar being modded this winter).. If you can get your hands on one.. they're awesome. Cheers
