Not a Royal Star but Still a Yamaha...

A friend of mine called me a few weeks back and asked if I wanted to buy their Motorcycle. I couldn't pass it up it was so cute.. lol

It is a 1983 Virago 500 with only 5743 miles on it. Still looks and runs great.. Not sure what Im going to do with it, I just like the way it looks.. I feel like an elephant on a mini-bike when I get on it.

Here are some pictures if I did the link right.

Also,, if someone cant tell me how I can get my pics smaller I would appreciate it. I used a resizer and it still didnt make them small enough. Thks.

If you ever decide to sell that darling, I would'nt mind making an offer. When you start it. does it still make sound like a blender chewing up ice? Those were notorious for that. Beautiful bike. God Bless. Mike

I like it. I bought my wife a Virago 535 a few years ago. She rode it a bit but didn't like the way it felt. Had a lot of rake to the front end. It was a cool bike though.

As for resizing the pics. If you make them a max of 640 x 480 and under 200,000 bytes they should work fine. Check the "Computer Help" section of the forum for some good suggestions and links.

congrats on the new addition. we have had the same bike 83 500 cherry red since 84 in our stable. oil changes, tires, brakes and one starteer solenoid, very reliable and fun to ride. my daughter now wants to learn to ride this summer.

cheers, Scott

When I first saw the bike a couple of years ago I told my friend if they ever wanted to get rid of it let me know. Was surprized when they called.

My friends sister bought it new in upstate NY and has been kept it in a garage all its life.

It also has a Yamaha backrest/luggage rack and bolt on aftermarket trunk but I like it without them.

As for getting rid of it, Havent really thought about that yet. Kinda hope I can talk the wife into riding it with me. We lost a son to a bike accident a few years back and she is hesitant to get on one. I did talk her into taking the MSF course a couple years ago and she got her license. So someday she may ride it a little. Who knows.. However, She did let me add her to the insurance when I called them...

If I do decide to pass it on Mike I will give you a shout. OH.. I havent heard a blender yet....

Freebird, I will check out the help section. Thanks for the info.
