hale374 Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I don't think it's your seat that's the problem. Like most of us here, we all have the same issue with handling. Most of us have added the dog bones (leveling links) from Diamond R Accessories. If that still doesn't do it for you, a narrower front tire (130) will do it. I've done both mods on mine and the handling is much better especially at slow speeds.
KeithR Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 This maybe an option for you. have a look at this link http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/1023/cat/7/date/1161840513 Keith
BoomerCPO Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Once you get the seat mod done by Rick Butler you will find that you sit deeper into the seat and the bike does not have that top heavy feel. The next logical step is to learn the handling characteristics needed for this bike. That is where the "Ride Like A Pro" DVD comes into play. Once you get the DVD the game is PRACTICE,PRACTICE,PRACTICE! You will be amazed at just how good this bike is just by doing the 2 things I mentioned....without having to sell off your 1st born son for additional parts/mods! Good luck and ride safe.........Boomer
Squidley Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 06 ..1300venture midnight can you get seat that is lowerd to help with being to top heavy any ideas.. any buddy.. Ken.. Ken, I have a question that I might be reading into. Does the bike feel too tall for you? if so the seat mod will help, but you may want to consider LOWERING the bike. The leveling links will actually make the bike higher. If you lower it and use the narrower front tire, I believe you will cure your feeling of top heaviness. The RSV is tall in the saddle and some of our inseamed challenged owners have a hard time with the bike in it's stock height.
capn eddie Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I just had my 87 VR seat done by rick an i made it a little lower. much better:bowdown: , good thing you guy ride a 2nd gen. thats lower than the 1st. gen. thats taller or you would know what top heavy really is .
