Previewed an auction Monday and the only thing they had that I was even mildly interested in was a 6x12 Pace American Trailer. I wasn't into Bounce Houses and party favors so didn't want to come back for just the trailer.. Put in an absentee bid on the trailer of a grand. I didn't think it would fly, but what the heck! Got a call from the folks yesterday afternoon that the bid flew and I now own another trailer, and am sorta broke... :mo money:

More storage room.. :).. :sign woo hoo: Here's a pic...

Gee Jack if you keep buying stuff, Nadine is gonna have you convert it into your sleeping space! lol! And you already have an office outside the house!

On the upside, if I get down there with my bike again, there will be a trailer around to get my bike home with ,,,,lol!

Yep, kinda looks that way. I just checked the Pace website and a couple of Pace dealers for prices and the thing sells new for around $3100 :) , and that's before taxes, and registration fees. It does have some business advertising on the sides that's barely visiable in the pic. Looks like it's a cloth material of some sort. It's conna be interesting to see what will work to remove it without destroying the finish. May have to break out the paint spray gun in the near future???

If it's vinyl lettering it will leave a mark when removed. If it's still on use a hair dryer or something similar to heat and peal the stuff off. Over time the un-exposed areas (read those covered with vinyl) will not weather the same. If there is no residue on the aluminum you should be able to buff most of it out. Most remaing residue can be removed, but, .............. I can't remeber with what:sign brain fart:

On a side note: local car dealer has an open bike trailer for sale, Looks very good driving by (2 bikes) Anyone interested I'll go ask how much.

Goo Gone is what we use in the sign industry to remove the left over glue. If it's been in the sun with the graphics on it very long, the area around it will be a different shade than where the graphics were. Only thing to fix that is a paint job...........

I'm hoping that the graphics haven't been on the sides for very long. The trailer looked fairly new, but I never did look for a born-on date. It also looks like the thing had been stored inside the warehouse so hopefully the uneven UV fade isn't going to be a factor. Some graphics are like decals and applied to a soapy surface. Some have adhesive backing and stuck on a prepped dry surface. Heat and Goof Off will probably be the answer if it's the later. I did try to see if I could peal up a corner, but it was on there pretty tight. If nothing works I can always just paint the graphics black, and leave it go at that. I won't be picking up the trailer until Friday. So lots of time to think about it.

Hey, Brain - he may be in a big enough dog house with this one that he is already out there - :rotf::rotf::rotf:. Or, maybe Jack, you could build a bunch of shelves in there for all your spare 1st gen parts :confused24::confused24:? I think it may be too big to pull behind one of your bikes, though - :rotf:- so ya goofed up again, :smile11::crying:

Heading on over to the auction house to pick up the trailer this AM. They called yesterday to let me know that they're back from vacation, and it's ready to go. They called back again about a half hour later and Betty said a guy was asking if I really wanted it, and offered $1500 for it. I replied with a 'no thanks'. Then I thought I should have countered with $2000. These things sell new in the $2500-$3000 neighborhood. Also picking up my Ruger #1 that had to be held for 10 days. I am really broke!!!!!!!!! :mo money:

Been picking up a few rifles out of an estate the last couple of months. 3 so far, and their cost wasn't going to break the bank, but I really didn't expect to get the trailer. Didn't even go to the auction, it was a half hearted absentee bid?? The trailer is what broke the bank.... :) Guess I'll just have to live with it....Sigh!!!! :rotf::rotfl::rotf:
