Pilot Posted December 23, 2008 #1 Posted December 23, 2008 (edited) I began making helmet extension cables about 2 months ago. Why you ask, because a friend of mine (Harley) was complaining that the stock cable constantly tugged at his helmet, he is 6’ 4”. So I offered to make him a 14” extension. He liked it so much he bought another one for his wife, she liked it also as she said she no longer has to disconnect to dismount. They told their friends at the local HOG meeting and they told their friends and now I’m making about 7 a week. They are made from coiled cable and will extend to 22”. I’m charging $21.00 shipped in the continental US. I have attached a picture of one for you to look at. I thought I would spread the word in case anyone here has the same issue with their stock helmet cable. Besides I need chrome money and it gives me something to do. Being retired is not all that interesting in the winter. WEB SITE: http://home.comcast.net/~jbissonette1/site/ Thanks Jim Edited January 9, 2009 by Pilot

Thanks Jim I believe the Harley sockets and the Venture are different, aren't they. You can make them for the Venture/Goldwing set up also? Thanks,

Pilot Posted December 24, 2008 Author #5 Posted December 24, 2008 Hey Pilot ! I'm looking for a extension cable to reroute the passenger cable under the passenger seat and up the driver backrest to make it easier for the wife . Doesn't have to be a coiled cable , can that be had ? BEER30 Sure, no problem. Send me an email at jbissonette1@comcast.net and include your full name, the length of the cable you want (measured from connector end to connector end) along with your mailing address and I'll get it out to you. Jim
Pilot Posted December 24, 2008 Author #6 Posted December 24, 2008 Beer30 if all you want is a STRAIGHT extension and you don't care what COLOR it is. Do a search on ebay for a MIDI CABLE 5 PIN DIN MALE TO FEMALE EXTENSION. You should be able to come up with one that's 3 feet, which should be plenty. I don't want to have to charge you for something you can get for around $5.00 Jim
BEER30 Posted December 27, 2008 #7 Posted December 27, 2008 Jim , A coiled cable will work . E-mails/PM's sent . Looking forward to getting the cable . I prefer getting a cable from another member rather than from someone I do not know . And for the effort of helping someone out to afford the Safety Chrome ! BEER30
