Venturous Randy Posted December 20, 2008 #1 Posted December 20, 2008 The FIRST day of winter!!!!! On a good note, the days will start getting longer and on a bad note, tomorrow's low here is to be about 13 degrees F. It has been a good day today and I did get in about a 40 mile ride at about 57 degrees. This may be my last ride of 08 and I have put a little over 8,000 miles on the bike this year. It has been a pretty good year. RandyA
MikeM8560 Posted December 21, 2008 #2 Posted December 21, 2008 so how many l miles total now? my speedometer bit the dust last night comming home on me. im getting real tired of theese short days dark out at 6.
Kurt Posted December 21, 2008 #3 Posted December 21, 2008 As the old saying goes "When the days get longer the cold gets stronger" we are headed for the deep freeze. 22 degrees this morning, now just below 0. Snowed 4-5 inches and the wind is blowing now. In a blizzard warning till 3 pm tomorrow. We are definitely having a white Christmas this year. Ya better look out, cabin fever is coming on fast.
Yammer Dan Posted December 21, 2008 #4 Posted December 21, 2008 Call me when its over!! I'm going to bed!!
heatonmt Posted December 21, 2008 #5 Posted December 21, 2008 from what I see tomorrow is cold cold cold.
nelsonrl Posted December 21, 2008 #6 Posted December 21, 2008 Went to dinner with some friends - it was 64 outside when we left the house. Just got home and its 39. Guess it is winter.
spear Posted December 21, 2008 #7 Posted December 21, 2008 Okay you northerners. I'll rub it in a little from Down Under. Longest day of the year today. It's 8:25pm and still daylight in the sky. Temperature only got to 27degC (81degF) today and I never took the bike out. Too busy working on the house building.
SilvrT Posted December 21, 2008 #8 Posted December 21, 2008 We got another dump of snow last night and the night before that we recorded the coldest temp in 40 years! It's been below zero celcius here for well over a week...totally uncharacteristic for the area. More snow on the way and it looks like we "might" hit plus 1 by Christmas day.
abnormalwon Posted December 21, 2008 #9 Posted December 21, 2008 Spear, The question is what will it be like down your way come July or so?
Uturn Posted December 21, 2008 #10 Posted December 21, 2008 Went to dinner with some friends - it was 64 outside when we left the house. Just got home and its 39. Guess it is winter. Only one word for this "DURN!" {PG audience} Mike aka Uturn
raceman62race Posted December 22, 2008 #11 Posted December 22, 2008 It's going to be cold in GA for the next couple of days. Lows in the 20's....I know, that's not cold for someone from the north.......... But, they are predicting the weather to slowly start warming up and be in the upper 70's by next Sat. Sounds like some good winter time riding weather is just around the corner for us!!
spear Posted December 22, 2008 #12 Posted December 22, 2008 Spear, The question is what will it be like down your way come July or so? I knew somebody would bring that up! I'll let ya know.
