roadwarrior Posted December 20, 2008 #1 Posted December 20, 2008 I can finally feel good about my tires. As noted by others before they make the bike feel lighter.
Squidley Posted December 20, 2008 #2 Posted December 20, 2008 You will only get a better feel out of the the more you ride them...good on ya bud
ibents Posted December 20, 2008 #3 Posted December 20, 2008 You'll find also that you don't get the tracking when you run over long cracks in the road which try to send you off course. At least I found that. Ian
DragonRider Posted December 20, 2008 #4 Posted December 20, 2008 The only tire I will ever put on my bikes, both of them have Avons, and thats all they will ever have regardless of the price......there is no substitute for safety and the confident feeling they give you.
Ponch Posted December 20, 2008 #5 Posted December 20, 2008 and rode on them today. went with the 130 up front. So far ITS GREAT!!!

roadwarrior Posted December 20, 2008 Author #7 Posted December 20, 2008 The small shop where I take my bike is really upset with Metzler. He said that many Ultra riders are having the seperation and chunking problems as well.Metzler is recalling tires based on how the air pressure is intepreted not a defect and so far will not reimburse him for the removal and installation of the replacement tire.I think he will be switching to Avon as well.
treeman Posted January 7, 2009 #8 Posted January 7, 2009 New Avons on mine Ride From B----- stones, got about 600 miles on them
Eck Posted January 7, 2009 #9 Posted January 7, 2009 and rode on them today. went with the 130 up front. So far ITS GREAT!!! They look good Ponch.... where did you get your WW's at?
Herb In Texas Posted January 7, 2009 #10 Posted January 7, 2009 I put one on the back of mine (front still stock brickstone), Best tire Iv'e ever rode. I found that the braking is more efficient. I locked the brick alot but not the Avon. cornres better and can't be beat on wet roads IMHO. Come spring I will change out the front. Can't seem to make me change out a tire thats not damaged or worn out. Even though I know it will be a vast improvement:thumbsup:
BuddyRich Posted January 7, 2009 #11 Posted January 7, 2009 Just got my new Avons again. Tried everything out there and I won't use anything but the Avons now. Just can't find a better tire than the Venoms.

And that is a standing offer for any VentureRider members! As a matter of fact, if anyone is planning long trips this summer and will be coming through Texas - if you need tires while on the road you might consider having them drop-shipped to me. Goose
