curtisb Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Just installed new avon venom rear tire on 2007 venture. What tire pressure seems to work best with these tires?
sarges46 Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 I think many will agree with somewhere around 5 lbs or so under the max pressure listed on the tire sidwall.
SilvrT Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Just installed new avon venom rear tire on 2007 venture. What tire pressure seems to work best with these tires? There's been a lot of discussion (pros & cons) about this but the general consensus IMO seems to be to run them at or close to the max recommended pressure on the tire. 45-50lbs rear and 40-45lbs front. Others will chime in I'm sure.
KeithR Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Lots of opinions in the similar thread section at the bottom of this page Keith
curtisb Posted December 19, 2008 Author Posted December 19, 2008 As always, the responses are quick . Thanks so much for the input.
Tom Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 I run the pressure on the sidewall and some disagree with that But,I have 13000 miles on them and still look great..I do not ride aggressive though and usually 65 mph..I only get aggressive IF I am by myself and know the roads well.

I agree with both these gents, I have said it many times and will again here. The load rating on ANY tire is dependent upon tire pressure. If you underinflate a tire, you exponentially reduce the load rating of it. I do lots of 2 up and heavy hauling on my RSV and keep the tires maxed inflated. I adjust the suspension for ride, not the tire.....0.98 less than a buck
