6pak Posted December 18, 2008 #1 Posted December 18, 2008 Ok folks, these are what the bike used to look like, (blue) and this is what I have done so far. Keep in mind that it's a work in progress, with a garage paint job. I'm pretty happy with it so far. Now waiting on Christmas to be over so I can spend more money. It still needs a new windshield, battery, Luggage rack, a set of lights for Squidleys brackets, and waiting on a set of Macs. Took out the radio, Going to go with Sirius Satelite. So I also need a set of headsets as well. Maybe Santa will bring me some of this stuff. I hope the pics are visible. Happy Holidays Everybody.
MiCarl Posted December 18, 2008 #2 Posted December 18, 2008 Looking good. My 89 had almost exactly the same white/blue paint scheme, except the headlight bezel is white on mine too. Currently mine is undergoing body work in preparation for a new color.
mbrood Posted December 18, 2008 #5 Posted December 18, 2008 I've always found that paint scheme to be very effective in traffic... folks stay a bit further back and away on the side and as you approach traffic, they seem to merge to the right and give you room to go by... Gee... you think black -n- white looks "interesting" in the rear view mirror of folks? That and a gold and black helmet and folks just peel out of the way. I rode one for a while and thought, MAN, these people are aweful appreciative of a motorcycle in their midst... and then it dawned on me... Seriously, that's a nice looking paint job.
6pak Posted December 19, 2008 Author #6 Posted December 19, 2008 Evidently the light in the garage is throwing the color off. it's actually black and silver.
abnormalwon Posted December 19, 2008 #7 Posted December 19, 2008 Thought it looked like Black and silver. And the pics do look good, though like the post above I believe if you throw on some blue lights and a couple of strobes you cruise through whatever traffic is ahead of you ....... for a while that is. Nice job.
mraf Posted December 19, 2008 #9 Posted December 19, 2008 Nice job. I wouldn't worry about it being just a garage job. My wife has yet to let me paint anything in the house. Maybe sit on Ms. Santa's lap to help remind her of your wish list. Of coarse this only works if you've been nice.
PBJ Posted December 19, 2008 #10 Posted December 19, 2008 Does look nice. I wasn't sure if it was white or silver but it looks nice either way. A little polishing and it'll look really sharp.Good job.
