FreezyRider Posted December 15, 2008 #1 Posted December 15, 2008 Just saw this on ebay, would take a bit of work but I think it could be fixed cheaply. At only 22k miles, should be a good one. If Utah wasn't so far away I might be interested myself.... Joe
pegscraper Posted December 15, 2008 #2 Posted December 15, 2008 A nice little project, if you can paint. Are you still lusting after an RSV there, chilly? I'd want to look at it in person first though, to find out what else was missing or didn't work. I don't see antennas either.

But, it ain't gonna happen unless I win the lottery....which is highly unlikely since I have never bought a ticket! Even then, I'd have to ride the new Kaw Voyager first in order to make up my mind. I just thought this one would be a good prospect for someone out West who wants a 2nd gen without a lot of expense. And you're right....it would definitely need to have some eyeballs laid on it first! Joe
utadventure Posted December 15, 2008 #4 Posted December 15, 2008 If you're interested in this, let me know, I'll be glad to go look at it and ask any questions you might have. I can probably find a place to store it until next spring. Dave
Squidley Posted December 15, 2008 #5 Posted December 15, 2008 To be honest, there is a lot of work to do to that bike. It has already been messed with and I wouldn't be surprised if it has a salvage title. Not trying to rain on anyones parade, but by the time that you fixed it all up and looking pretty, you'll probably have about $5 or $6 K in it. You could buy a nice used one for that kind of money and not have to screw with it. If it was purely a project and it didn't amtter when it was finished, that might work out

bongobobny Posted December 15, 2008 #7 Posted December 15, 2008 Gee, and I was going to suggest "Venturerider Loaner Bike"...
utadventure Posted December 16, 2008 #8 Posted December 16, 2008 I spoke with Ed (the Ebayer) and he bought the bike about 18 months ago out of California. He didn't say why it was vandalized but some of the plastic was damaged. I don't know much about the sound system on the second Gen bikes but they stole the sound system controller, speakers, both antenea. If the second Gen has an audio unit inside the fairing then only not all of the sound system was stolen. The bike has been and is still being stored outside in the weather. We just received about 5" of snow yesterday and he said that the cover had blown off. No wonder it needs a paint job. He's put about 10K miles on the bike and says there isn't a whine but doesn't know if the clutch basket has been replaced or not. I haven't seen the bike or heard it run. Dave

Dave Thats what I was leaning towards when I made my statement, knowing what you just mentioned I wouldn't offer any more than about $2500 for the bike.
