Well gang, especially my fellow Texas Stampeders, I tried talking myself out of it but couldn't resist any longer. I have sold my 88 Venture Royale, my baby, and have taken on a more classic ride. This afternoon I will be the proud owner of an 03 Harley Davidson FLTHCUI Ultra Classic Electra Glide. At first, I wanted to keep the VR as well as the Harley but I have limited room in my three car garage for all my other vehicles and just couldn't manage two large sleds in it. I thought about throwing out one of the cages, and even considered selling my motorhome so I could park one or two of the cars under that cover, but would rather keep the rv and the other stuff in the garage. Bottom-line the VR will be gone this afternoon and in its place will be my new-to-me FLTHCUI. OMG still can't believe I am doing this. I have built this VR almost from the ground up and I will surely miss her. She has been very, very good to me, carried me thousands of trouble-free miles. I maintained her like she was born of my loins. I will welcome my new HD and I am sure she will become just as important part of me as my VR was.

I hope that being a HD owner I am still welcome here in this forum.

I have made some very fine friends while being a member of this forum. I would like to continue participating in various runs like next years Texas Stampede. Hope all will continue to welcome me and my new-to-me loud classy ride.

God, why do I feel so bad? I am almost in tears.

You are welcome here if you ride a tricycle as far as I am concerned, hope you enjoy the new scoot as much as you enjoyed the old scoot. Good luck with the HD. Craig

Jeeze Guns, don't worry about what you ride ... look, here's a picture of Squid riding his bike when he first joined ... he was a bit trimmer back then ...

I did not know that... I thought the only thing metric was the 10 MM battery posts... My last Harley was a 74... DOH!

Gunny - I still have my 1986. When that two lunger gets to ya just ask and I'll let you run 4 cylinders of raw V-4 power so you can get your fix. Ya know Mocha can run! Congratulations on the new to you wheels. I am sorry to see the Maroon Lady go but such is life. Hope the next owner treasures her like you did. Drat the bad luck though. I wanted to try and out-chrome you this year! Sure won't happen with your new ride. If it is one thing a Harley has, it is accessories! Looking forward to seeing the new wheels. And, if you think you can get out of meets and eats by buying a different brand, sorry you still have to show up.

I shouldn`t say "alot" I really do not know how many or where at, I was at the Texas Rally and 2 HD guys where broke down and needed my yama tools, the only time they have ever been used, I told them that all I had are metric, they told me that is what they needed... oh well, sorry if I spoke out of line... but there are a few Made in Japan parts on them..
