Mini Asheville

For awhile now I have been thinking about suggesting another Asheville, but like an extended M&E. This is not to compete with Vogal as I would love to get together like we did last year, except in mid June, which would be about two months before Vogal. We could make it even less planned out, camping, eating on the run or do the breakfast bashes and maybe even an afternoon hotdog feasting. If anyone wanted to go to Biltmore or another specific destination, it could be arranged, but not worry about making it a formal day outting.

For those of that did or did not make Asheville last year, it was an alternative to Vogal as Lew and Charlene were not going to be available and we still wanted a south east get together. I believe about everybody that showed up had a pretty good time.

I would not mind making the same KOA campground the meeting point as it worked out great for us and I did feel they did appreciate us being there. But, if we wanted to do this we could consider other options and a different campground.

Anyway, just trying to get thru some PMS with the temps being 25 degrees below normal and dreaming about next summer. What do you all think?

Asheville KOA was a great place and we enjoyed the camp ground too. The Skid-In II will be in late June, but that seems like a long time away. I'm glad there will be a few Meet & Eats before then.....

Sounds good to me. Lots of places we all didn't get to go due to the amount of time we spent there. Let me know if you do it. I can send you some of the info I put together for last year that we didn't get to. The laid back style of last year worked out well too.

Don't think we could make it this time, but we did have a fantastic time!! We could do it again in a couple of years down the road if it became an annual get together...

If we wanted to make it late May, that may work good for some also. That time of year is beautiful around Asheville, but the Blue Ridge Parkway will not think it is springtime yet. Some of it does not bloom out much until June.

Anyway, as I said, I am just dreaming about summer and seeing what some may be interested in.

Lots of us last year stayed at a hotel about 5miles away. If i go that is where I will stay

That was one of the best meets I've been to.

Riding was great, no pressure to do anything in particular and no pressure to raise money for anything.

Just riding and a lot of BS. Love it.

Set the date and we will try and be there.

As Other said Asheville is One of best VR M&E I Ever Been. I Would go again in hart beat. Asheville without Blue Ridge Parkway is not a same. There is a 100's tail of dragons just off BRP, and Dillard House is Close enough. I Would Suggest as a whole week event, Not Just a long weekend. Go For It.

Just looked at the VR Calendar and there isn't much happening after easter (April) till maintenance day (1st weekend in june)
