flb_78 Posted December 3, 2008 #2 Posted December 3, 2008 Honda Moly 60 is the best to use. It's expensive though.
Jethroish Posted December 3, 2008 #3 Posted December 3, 2008 MolyB is good stuff and holds on longer. It does not take a lot. You might find some other brand than Honda. The service manual says to use lithium soap grease. Your choice.
GeorgeS Posted December 3, 2008 #4 Posted December 3, 2008 as long as your working on it, read thru the posting by " JerryK " yesterday, at 07:37 AM. Some interesting information, may be of interest
Chinto Posted December 3, 2008 #5 Posted December 3, 2008 The good news is you will get more than one application from the Honda Moly60 tube which reduces the total cost with successive application. Besides, it is good piece of mind knowing your work effort will last longer.
ediddy Posted December 3, 2008 #6 Posted December 3, 2008 The last time a yamaha factory rep looked at my bike when I was having rear end problems he said to use moly 60 lithium grease. His personal favorite is honda moly 60. There is a very good article about greasing shaft drive motorcyles at www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/Shaft.html
KiteSquid Posted December 4, 2008 #7 Posted December 4, 2008 I agree with most posters above, Honda Moly60 is the ONLY way to go!!!! Expensive, but worth it. It is 3 Oz of grease in a 6 Oz tube, so don't be scared when it is only half full. IF your local Honda dealer does not stock it, that tells you something about their service department.
Bvinson Posted December 4, 2008 #8 Posted December 4, 2008 (edited) There are a couple of options if you are not close to a Honda Shop. Loctite Moly Paste 65% Moly Content $25 for 8 oz. Belray Assembly Lube also very high moly content. Edited December 5, 2008 by Bvinson
