PBJ Posted December 2, 2008 #1 Posted December 2, 2008 Squidley gave me the idea to post this here so here goes. First of all this is to Riders out of Michigan. Last may i bought my 85 Venture Royale from a couple up in Muskegon. They only had the bike 8 months and never rode it much. they wanted and bought a Wing instead. The bike is Brown and Gold and came with a trailer hitch. The trunk on the bike was cracked in the bottom and repaired with fiberglass. The bike only has 35k on it and seems to have fairly well taken care of . It also has a sticker inside the trunk saying that the bike climbed Mt. Washington. The last six digits on the registration are 000110. I was wondering if anyone here may have owned the bike or knows someone that may have. I love the bike it runs great and any information from previous owners would only help to better know the history of this bike. I hope to hear from someone out there. PJ.
StarFan Posted December 2, 2008 #2 Posted December 2, 2008 Hey PJ. Isn´t there some kind of a bureau of vehicles in your country/state that can give you ownership record of your vehicles? Well, at least here in Iceland we can go down to the vehicle office and get a full ownership history of any vehicle one owns. All we have to do is to show registration papers that state that we own the vehicle. This must be possible in USA - or maybe this gets complicated when vehicles are sold between states? BTW. - Should I stop by your place so we can ride together over to BigTom´s for Freebirds Maintenance Day ?

Cant do that in my part of Canada, the privacy laws forbid most releases of information about another person. The thoughts are to protect one person from another trying to find the person and harm them, but I think its just a big pain in the butt to employ more govt workers. Brian:backinmyday:
PBJ Posted December 2, 2008 Author #4 Posted December 2, 2008 Hi Jonas, I'm not sure if I can check through a vehicle registry like that. There is a car history sort of thing here but you have to pay for it. I though tthis would be more interesting ,especially if the bike had belonged to another member. of course it could have belonged to someone that left the forum because he bought another brand or just gave up riding. Then too we have alot of members that rarely come on sight very often. It could be one of those. Still I'm hoping that the description as meager as it is might light a spark in someones memory. As far as stopping by here on your way to Maintenance Day next May in Ohio . I certainly hope you will. I'd be honored to escort you to Toms I live just off of Rts 20 and 5 that come together through part of New York. depending on when you might be getting here we have a spare roonm for you to spend the night or we can just head on over to Alden and drop you off there. All of us here in New York are looking forward to meeting you and helping to make your adventure a memorable one. I may not be going to Ohio as I hope to get to the Americade this year . We may not go until the end of the week so we may be able to do both. Not sure as of yet. When you get to the States give us a call and we can arrange a place where we can meet you on the road and ride back with you.Until then ride safe.
