The one brian is checking out is different...it's the kind you ride onto and the bike sits on it's tires. Having said that tho, this particular lift sure makes for easy access to everything including the wheels. It appears that all the weight/stress would be on the joint where the verticle bar attaches to the legs. Doesn't look to "beefed up" to me .... think I'd be worried about it failing at that joint.
