Kinda interesting. I've been tracking all 1stGen sales on Ebay for the last 3 years... yeah I know I've got a lot of time on my hands.... :) Sales of 1st gen's for the month of Novenber 2006 was 15 bikes and the adverage $ was $1822.00 per bike. For Nov 2007, 14 bikes sold and the average selling price was$1519.00. This year only 4 bikes ended up going to new owners, and the average was $1706.00. What does this mean?? I don't know, but I've noticed several bikes never making reserve. The ones that sold were listed with a lower first bid, and no reserve. When they did sell they did fairly average compared to 2006 and 2007.

I dont know Jack, but I think Nadine and the girls gotta find you some more yardwork and housework for you to do to keep you from wearing out your computer. :rotfl::rotfl:

Now start keeping of 1st Gens that go up for sale on ebay in pieces! Been seeing more and more going that way. The parts are going in "clumps" and it is probably more profitable (way more profitable) doing it that way...

On Ebay I've found a lot of seller THINK they have something (anything) rare and valuable and set the reserve way out there. Some get right down PO'ed if you make them a reasonable offer. Like Condor stated; average price.

One of these days when I don't have anything better to do... maybe right after the first of the year..., I should sort each model year built and then year sold, in order to get a better picture of the average 1stGen selling price. Lately I've stopped recording the $400-$500'parts' bikes.

Yep, Mike if you bought yours in late 2006 I probably have it listed.

Jack,

Are you doing this so you can find out what your bikes are worth? Maybe interested in selling them and buying a good used 2nd gen?

I once saw a guy on ebay maybe he's from here, maybe not, had a buy it now price of $10,000 for a 1st Gen I think it was an 86. I just had to type him and ask him if Elvis owned it and was plated with gold. He wasnt to happy about my question. Bike sold a couple of auctions later for around 5-6 grand still to much in my eyes.

Maybe Elvis sat on it?? :rotf: I've logged a couple of bikes that have sold for big bucks. Generally they're late MKII's with very low milage, and in mint condition. There's also been a few 83's that have sold up in the 3's in that same condition. So ya never know. What I can't understand is when a seller puts a reserve so high that even when it get's some nice bids, it doesn't have a chance of selling. Maybe they just like keeping Ebay in business with listing fees. :mo money:
