I recently cut my windshield down about 4 inches. It turned out great. It was very easy. I used gift wrapping paper to cover the entire windshield, taped the edges lightly. Used a string and pen to draw my desired radius. I used a varible jig saw as about 30 -40% speed. It cut like butter. Fine sand paper with block to smooth edges.... careful not to let fingers glide on surface or it will scratch. Looks like professionally done... Now it is just right.

I will post pics later.

I am 5'5" so I my stock windshield pretty much protect me from the elements. Just like yesterday afternoon after work headed home, I think there were at least 10 dead bugs on my windshield all at the same time...after thinking seriously about (whether to cut the windshield) it if my windshield is shortened, I can end up having all those bug splats on my helmet and jacket. Not a pretty sight for me. I may stay OEM size for now.

After running the stock windshield for 2+ years, I opted for the ShowChrome short.

It is wider and I can see over it with not problem.

The price is 100 & well worth the $

I think it looks good as well.

Same Stock then same Show Chrome (SC). The (SC) height is right at eye level (I'm 5'8"). I like the Width of (SC) keeps hands warmer and I can see over if rain storm pops up. I say GREAT for around town and 45 to 55 mph. WAY TOO MUCH WIND over 55+ mph for me and passenger, the buffeting actually blurred my our vision...YIKES.

I just ordered the Clearview XXL w/ Vent, yes I understand I will have trouble seeing in the rain, will do Rain-x and pull off if can not see. I expect NO BUFFETING w/ Blurred Vision from FF Helmet Shakes. 3 cents.

I'm soon to be changing out my windscreen for a shorter one after a full riding season with the Clearview Tall and Wide.. Nothing wrong with this windscreen but I do have some issues with it which I'll soon find out which is which of the cause..

When riding local back roads, cruising casually I can easily get over 200 miles to the tank.. But when I hit the highway, cruising 65-70 mph, I can often go between 100 and 150 miles per tank.. And I think the tall-wide windshield has a lot to do with it..

When we have a lot of winds, which we do at this time of year, my mileage will suck when traveling down the highway.. It would seem that the Tall-Wide offers so much air resistance that the bike requires even more power to step past the resistance.. So the faster you go, the more air resistance and more power - fuel consumption is required to achieve and maintain that speed... there is just so much surface facing the wind..

Before I got the Clearview Tall and Wide, I could go that much further on a tank of gas.. but that has been reduced by quite a lot since the new windshield..

So later on, I will cut short my stock windshield that was slightly above my line of sight and will test this theory out myself as the before and after tests..

Though the Clearview offers great visibility to see through while riding, I've preferred looking over the top..
