Lewis,

I will say that I am sorry for having to pull some threads, I dont like to do it and neither do the other Moderators, please believe me that it is never taken lightly. It's all about damage control and removing fuel from the fire, sometimes toes get stepped on.

The Red is under consideration, but like I have said we as a collective group (The Moderators) talk together before we take any action. Please bear with us as all we do is always to make this place better for all......I suppose we better get you your "Gift" before you snap :yikes:

Holly sheep squat if you adopt that rule I will have to buy a harley cause I will be in the crapper here before weeks end.:crying:

Just kidding ya, I had a beautiful blue 87 Royale for 3 years, I loved that bike, I just couldnt reach the ground, it got old having to drive around looking for a curb to put my foot on so I could stop:big-grin-emoticon: I never dropped it though. There were alot of things I really miss about that 87, but I do like the seating position of the 06, it sure sits lower, and it sure is "shiney" Craig

Yep Craig, just try coming up with SOME excuse for having to SLOW DOWN, admit it, you just couldn't handle the 1st gen any more! You could have glued some 2x4s to your shoes!! Oh ya, thats right, Squid had to change cause he got shorter as he got older! Therefore, the 10 lb turkey today!:witch_brew::whistling:

LOL

Happy Thanksgiving!!

That's easy ....

Just tear your Bike completely apart, overhaul the Motor, update the Frame and get it powdercoated, mount everything back in Place and show them 2nd Genners HOW fast a good 1Gen will leave them back in the Dust .... :whistling::whistling::whistling::whistling:

And don't worry Swifty, guys like us are always around when they're needed. Matter of fact, we're usually the first ones there! You know, kinda like a husband and Dad! Don't want us around, always get the cr*p jobs, never get appreciated................

I just love you 1st gen guys. You've always got each other's back. Kind of like the defenders of the Alamo, holding out against unnumbered foes. It'a a valiant struggle and I'm glad to be one of you. We will NOT go silently into the night!!

P.S. Moderators definitely earn their pay. Keep up the good work.

Hey it wasn't me this time. I've been trying to behave my self for over 3 weeks. :crying: Its not easy either.:whistling:

Whats a matter? You trying to get in good with Santa this year?

Did I say something ? I made a comment about frying turkey and then a storm kicked up, died down and got wiped out and everyone made up.

It's not greasy because there is no batter on the outside.

When some cafes insist on deep frying everything, pork chops, lamb chops, burgers etc, it seems to leach the flavour out. I've even seen shish kebabs fried in Belgium (tasteless); in Scotland they'll do anything that way (Mars bars anyone). Batter usually serves to stop the fat ruining fish - cod and chips well cooked is great.

Admittedly chicken usually fries pretty well.

Is it just because the turkey is so big that the fat doesn't penetrate, or is poultry generally better for deep frying ?

What I noticed with deep frying a turkey is that it locks in the juices and the meat is real moist. It's something that you really have to try at least once, the bird is tender and tastes awsome

Back to our sceduled programming :)

Oops - I must have clicked on next thread instead of next page - I wondered how a big argument had started about frying turkeys.

Bit like when someone flips channel during the adverts without you noticing and you can't understand what Batman is doing in CSI.

As Squidley says, normal service will resume shortly.

Normal - that's boiled - keep the basic flavour - unless you boil it too long then it'll disintegrate. It's all in the timing.

Give me Rosted or fried or baked.

No argument there, you keep your rosty food to yourself, plain fare will suit me.

Greg,

Since you got of topic here, figure I might as well just jump in and :stirthepot:.

I thought everything in England was boiled... But then what else can one expect from an island with such tasty dishes as Bubble and Squeek, Steak and Kidney Pie (heer again they need to boil the p... out of the lidneys) Hasty Pud, Trickle Pud...

I will have to admit however, that you folks do some rightious Fish n Chips... as long as there is enough malt vinigar and salt to mask the taste.... :duck:

And as for Scotland. If it ain't coated in oatmeal you ain't in Scotland. :rotfl:

Never a truer word said.

Top scoff all round.

Our roast dinners can be pretty good too, though.

And we count curries as a local dish too (cooked in a pot with biled rice of course).

Modern scots cuisine has rather more batter than oatmeal from what I hear, though.
