I just paid my motorcycle insurance tonight. It's snowing outside with another 5 months of the stuff.:crying::snow2::snow2::crying:

5 more months of snow in WV ? Isnt climate change going the other way? Even up here I should only have 4 months tops before I am back on the road. :stirthepot::stirthepot:. I just pay storage insurance on mine for the off season 60 bucks gives me 5000 bucks of coverage with a 100 ded. Rather than pay for my registration and insurance for 60 bucks a month, the off season storage works for me. (but then for sure I cant ride it even if I get a nice day)

Several years ago, Allstate decided to only sell year round motorcycle insurance. The way it was explained to me was they were having people pull their bikes out on those warm winter days and riding without insurance and getting into trouble. It ended up being only a few dollars more for the full year coverage, especially for those of us that only have liability and uninsured motorist.

I put storage insurance on mine and if a day is nice enough to go for a ride, I get a one day permit which only cost's $25. Since that doesn't happen too often, it's a lot cheaper than full insurance all year long. My new scoot costs considerably more than my '87 due to the value. My '87 insurance was $91 a month for 6 months. The new scoot is $158/month . Neither included collision... just a million third party and full comprehensive with $300 deductable.

I can not believe how high motorcycle insurance is in Canada. I just have liability and uninsured on my 83 and that is with higher coverage and it is about $120 a year with Allstate.

heh... yep... but this is British Columbia... the province of Government run everything LOL we have a dictatorship here. I used to live in Alberta (several years ago so things may have changed). At that time I had two vehicles and a motorcycle. I moved to BC but before I did, I sold one vehicle and the motorcycle. My insurance for one vehicle in BC was at the very least double what I paid for all 3 in Alberta.

You got that right. That would cost you at least 500 bucks for the year of course but you can not ride year round.

Winter is a good thing as we would never get anything done around the house if we could ride all year..
