crockettrider Posted November 20, 2008 #1 Posted November 20, 2008 I tried a search but couldn't find anything. I have a 99 RSV and one speaker isn't working. Right front. Clarion 090-0051-47. It has power to the speaker but won't do anything. Any info on where to get one? Thanks:Venture:

Eck Posted November 20, 2008 #3 Posted November 20, 2008 Question, Sure you dont have a typo error in your part number? That part number is not recognized by the manufacturer "Clairion" at all. I have searched many places so far for that number and all come up empty.. Test; try plugging it into the other side and see if it works...

KiteSquid Posted November 20, 2008 #6 Posted November 20, 2008 He is listing Clarions number, not Yamaha's number... crockettrider, on the left side of all the pages here, you should click on the VRTech link to download the service manual and parts manual for the bike. ALL of the speakers on the 2nd Gen RSV are Yamaha part number 4XY-88161-00-00 HOWEVER If your warranty is expired, you might want to install aftermarket speakers for an improved sound and probably lower cost. IMHO Clarion products are substandard......
Eck Posted November 20, 2008 #7 Posted November 20, 2008 He is listing Clarions number, not Yamaha's number... I saw that it was not yamaha's part number, but you would think the clairion part number would be RECOGNIZED by Clairion when you go to thier web site......(it's not).. that is what I was saying.
KiteSquid Posted November 20, 2008 #8 Posted November 20, 2008 (edited) Like I said, IMHO Clarion products are substandard...... Oh, and that speaker may have many part nubers, but could be Yamaha buisness to buisness only. Edited November 20, 2008 by KiteSquid
N3FOL Posted November 20, 2008 #9 Posted November 20, 2008 It is good, if you can find the exact speaker that came with you '99 Venture. But this is a good time to upgrade and there are a number of aftermarket speakers that are superior to the OEM. The only drawback would be is to replace all speakers with similar kind.
crockettrider Posted November 20, 2008 Author #10 Posted November 20, 2008 Thanks for all the info. I snuck out for a ride today and lo and behold I had a working speaker! It only worked for a few minutes and never came on again? I did have consistant power to the harness so I think I will replace the two front speakers with after market as suggested. Funny how much of a song you miss when it's stereo and you have one speaker. Pink Floyd just doesn't sound the same?
