Guest BigJohnD Posted November 15, 2008 #3 Posted November 15, 2008 Gotta get right back on that horse and ride...or you never will...
PBJ Posted November 15, 2008 #4 Posted November 15, 2008 of my second wife who sprained her ankle just before a big rally. We bungeed her crutches to the side of her bike like a long rifle. The other riders at the rally were impressed.
BEER30 Posted November 15, 2008 #5 Posted November 15, 2008 I used to ride Yamaha 360 RD up to Alyeska (Ski resort in Alaska)back in the day , with 2 sets of skiis strapped along the sides and the ski boots tethered together , slung over the fuel tank . The cuz and I with a backpack full of anti-freeze/spirits would make a full day out of it . BEER30
Bummer Posted November 15, 2008 #6 Posted November 15, 2008 I certainly respect him. I got picked off by an uninvited visitor from the south. His bumper crushed my left leg below the knee and totaled out my '05 Midnight. I ordered my '06 over the phone from a hospital bed. When it was time to pick it up I went hobbling in on my cane and took care of the business end. A couple of the guys there asked who was going to ride it home for me. I told 'em I was. They rolled their eyes. I just smiled, went out to the bike, folded up the cane, put it in the side bag, and rode away. Sometimes it's easier to ride than walk.
SaltyDawg Posted November 15, 2008 #7 Posted November 15, 2008 I rode a 550 maxim with crutches strapped to the side. I had a full length half cast on my right leg for about 6 weeks and my only means of transportation was the bike. Never tell a Marine he can't do something. LOL
Yammer Dan Posted November 15, 2008 #8 Posted November 15, 2008 I rode Chopper with crutches strapped to sissy bar and and string tied from shifter to gas tank lid for up-shifting. Could down-shift but couldn't get cast under shifter to up-shift. Just pull on string to shift!!
AlbertaClipper Posted November 15, 2008 #9 Posted November 15, 2008 I wonder if that is how stoppies started
