crockettrider Posted November 14, 2008 #1 Posted November 14, 2008 Went for a ride the other day and when I got home and started to gather my belongings I went to open the trunk and it went up 1/2 way. I gave it a reasonable pull but it didn't seem to want to budge? Anyone have any experience with this. I haven't tried too hard yet but if somone has a short cut fix I will not be offended;) Thanks in advance Mark
KeithR Posted November 14, 2008 #2 Posted November 14, 2008 Read though this thread....may be some info there Keith http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=25827
crockettrider Posted November 14, 2008 Author #3 Posted November 14, 2008 Thank you Keith, I will have to ry the slow and steady pressure route. Just happened out of the blue?
Owen Posted November 14, 2008 #4 Posted November 14, 2008 The two screws, under the cover, that hold the mechanism in place came loose on mine. It acted pretty much the same way with the two screws in a bind.
Yama Mama Posted November 14, 2008 #5 Posted November 14, 2008 This may be stupid but just take the whole assembly off because you do not really need it. We have ours off for several years and like it better off. We can open the trunk lid as high as we want done. Yama Mama
BigBoyinMS Posted November 14, 2008 #6 Posted November 14, 2008 I had one screw come out of the mechanism that holds the lid up and it did the same thing. Get your hand inside and try to keep it from pivoting. No need for any pressure or force.
crockettrider Posted November 14, 2008 Author #7 Posted November 14, 2008 I will give those a try but I do like the sounds of one less potential problem....
crockettrider Posted November 14, 2008 Author #8 Posted November 14, 2008 How do you get that stupid cover off anyhow? I swear since my sight has gone my brain vacated on these issues?
