Black Owl Posted November 9, 2008 #1 Posted November 9, 2008 After my Garmin crapped out... and they wanted a minimum of $150.00 to service it, decided to look at a different brand name. Anyone familiar with, or currently using the Sony Nav-U 44C? I picked up one yesterday and I have a 30 day return option for a full refund if I'm not happy. I know it is not intended for use on the scoot, but that is not where I use it. SO, any experience out there with this unit? Tanks much....
Guest ReinyRooster Posted November 9, 2008 #2 Posted November 9, 2008 Can't say I have ever used one Russ, or talked to anyone that has but it looks like a good unit after reading up on it on the Sony site.
BradT Posted November 10, 2008 #3 Posted November 10, 2008 Did the paper rip and you can't find the tape ? Seriously I still think the Garmin is one of the best ones out there. I bought the extended warranty and have not had to use it yet and hope I don't. Best of luck finding a good one, you like Brad
Rocket Posted November 10, 2008 #4 Posted November 10, 2008 I know it is not intended for use on the scoot, but that is not where I use it. Yup, you need to ride the scoot, before needing it there........ A 1 block test ride is not enough.
Condor Posted November 10, 2008 #5 Posted November 10, 2008 The thing looks like the European Garmin 510C that they blew out on WOOT a couple of weeks ago for $69.95. Garmin reloaded the unit with US data. They sold 2300 units in about 2 hrs....while I was asleep....
