PITBULL Posted November 9, 2008 #1 Posted November 9, 2008 (edited) Thinkng about picking up a 2006 midnight rsv......any problems with that year? Edited November 9, 2008 by PITBULL
BuddyRich Posted November 9, 2008 #2 Posted November 9, 2008 (edited) Nope, but they are really heavy and I never could pick one up. Always rode the dang thing. Check for the whine and see that the radio works Edited November 9, 2008 by BuddyRich
Squidley Posted November 9, 2008 #4 Posted November 9, 2008 the whine? He's talking about the clutch basket Tate. Some of them will scream a bit and they replace them with the I basket. You'll know it if it has that and its still under warranty, so no worries
kenw Posted November 9, 2008 #5 Posted November 9, 2008 Got one and I love it! No problems other than finding time to ride it. Like was said above, they are heavy, especially in parking lots. Kenw
FJR Rider Posted November 9, 2008 #6 Posted November 9, 2008 the whine? As rough and tumble as you are...you shouldn't have any problem with the whine
treeman Posted November 10, 2008 #7 Posted November 10, 2008 Got mine in May of 2006 just had 16,000 mile check up. Had front end wobble Got it tightened up A- OK now. Had No problems with it. The wobble showed up about 16,000 Love it.
Sailor Posted November 10, 2008 #8 Posted November 10, 2008 Got a 2002 It is heavy but that disappears as soon as you hit the throttle. P.S. Avon Venom's seem to reduce the weight.
KiteSquid Posted November 10, 2008 #9 Posted November 10, 2008 Take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation riders course and buy a copy of Ride Like a Pro V, and the bike will feel a LOT lighter IF you practice what they teach!!!!!
PITBULL Posted November 10, 2008 Author #10 Posted November 10, 2008 Thanks guys but I think I have opted not to go with the '06. I would have had to trade in my Roadstar and Im just not willing to do that. Sure wish I could afford 2 bikes!
Bummer Posted November 10, 2008 #11 Posted November 10, 2008 That's kind of a shame, but I'm sure we all understand. I'd like to have Jay Leno's garage - well I guess more importantly money. Think of the motorcycle annex...
