Tom Posted November 9, 2008 #1 Posted November 9, 2008 Well my friends it is that time of year again...No this isnt about Politics, but REAL HOPE. As I know winter is setting in for our fellow members up North. My Pledge to ALL of you is that I will unselfishly continue riding in our wonderful weather down here and YES,I will TRY and post many pictures so that Real HOPE will stay in your minds that yes one day the white stuff will leave your area and once again you can mount up and ride again. I thought of all this today as I rode to Llano,Texas and that area of our Hill Country As I was going over the Mountain that Overlooks LBJ lake a fellow Venture Rider,SapperMedic called and we arranged a meet in Marble Falls , Texas at the Bluebonnet Cafe. This was the first time I had met Brian and his wife Marsha. It was an Honor. Seeing all the other bikes there I just thought of ALL of you and had to share my message of HOPE! Tom
Snaggletooth Posted November 9, 2008 #3 Posted November 9, 2008 Gosh.....I'm touched there Tom. I'm sure I'll be thinking of you when I'm layering up my thermies tomorrow morning when it's in the 20's again and the wind is kicking up at 20 MPH. I love Nebraska. Sun burn and frost bite are possible on the same day. I just wish we had some scenic routes.
MikeM8560 Posted November 9, 2008 #4 Posted November 9, 2008 Ill help too, going on a toys for tots ride tomorow myself
Sailor Posted November 9, 2008 #5 Posted November 9, 2008 You guys are just plain mean! lol. Out here on the wet coast we rarely get thay ugly white stuff but we do get rain, and rain, and more rain, then we get some rain followed by rain. In Jan/Feb we get cold rain. Hawaii or Mexico are looking good right about now.
lonestarmedic Posted November 9, 2008 #6 Posted November 9, 2008 I was out that way all day! Thought you and Sapper were going to call me when you went out. Oh well, next time. Mochalady and I did have fun this afternoon. We took a 2009 Victory Vision for an 85 mile spin. Not a V-4 but dang does it have a lot of nice features. JB
Marcarl Posted November 9, 2008 #7 Posted November 9, 2008 As the saying goes: Absence makes the heart grow founder,, so I guess that means we love our scoots more, love our riding time more, love our riding partners more, and maybe because of the cold just generally love more. Now no need to go into all the intimate details of that statement, but you may just get the point. I hear that practice makes purrfect and I'm not perfect yet, but am practicing.
Yammer Dan Posted November 9, 2008 #8 Posted November 9, 2008 After WVU's showing against Cinci last night I'm going to move to Florida!!! Ride all year and forget football!!!

Gary N. Posted November 9, 2008 #15 Posted November 9, 2008 Be careful there buddy. You keep talking like that and you just might get the space shuttle parked in your yard for a month or three. I burned up about three tanks of fuel this week. (I love retirement ) High 60's and sunshine for a couple of days here but we're getting the cold stuff from the mid-west now.

PBJ Posted November 10, 2008 #18 Posted November 10, 2008 Hey Tom we just had a week of 50 to 70 degree days up here in New Yawk! In the last few years we haven't gotten real snow until february. Maybe this global warming thing ain't so bad. But heck its not really the snow we're afraid of its the salt on the roads!
