I'm 5' 8" and have stock RSV 2008.

The Chrome Filler Cap reflection on Windshield is annoying and not Safe at times. What have some of you "seasoned" RSV Riders 2nd Geners doing about it?

I think maybe a Dark Beverage Can Cooler cut off the bottom and invert it over the Chrome Filler Cap?

Ideas?

:yikes:

Well I put on the whole chrome piece and YES it is distracting so Even though it doesnt look that good I have a big black washcloth that i have a piece of velcro on and also on the neck of the bike so I lay it over the chrome pieces and it stays there. It has become useful for wiping fog build up,and when too much rain accumulates on the inside ,wiping it down! Also if I spill a little gas my rag is there.

I got out the old sewing machine, and a piece Naughehyde(sp) cut it out

and sewed it up. If you know how to sew it's easy (only took me three tries)

It has been a while since I have seen someone complain about this, but it is not uncommon. Strangely, not all of us seem to see it. I have over 70,000 miles on my RSVs, and I have never found that even slightly dagerous. In fact, it has only been mildly annoying a couple of times in all those miles. Can't say for sure what makes the difference, but I'd guess it is my height and riding position. :080402gudl_prv:

I bought my bike pre-owned. For a long time I thought the gas cap was black from the factory! :whistling: Seems the PO painted it black. It wasn't until I asked about a chrome one that folks told me they came from the factory chrome. :) Might wanna break out some spray paint and have at it.

Black Koozie does it for me($ 0.99). Plus it gives me a place to put my sunglasses when I don't need them on my face but want them handy in case I need them latter in the ride.

Bought a small piece of black felt in the crafts department at Wal-Mart and a package of heavy duty hair braid bands. Cut the black felt to fit over the cap with enough overage to have a short skirt at the tank then use a hair band to keep it in place.
