tufftom4 Posted November 6, 2008 #1 Posted November 6, 2008 These are pics from my trip through Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parway Labor day week I drove from Mass to Ft Pierce Fla that week and the weather was awsome. I camped out every day.
mini-muffin Posted November 6, 2008 #2 Posted November 6, 2008 Nice pics, glad to hear you had a good time. Margaret
eazyduzzit Posted November 6, 2008 #3 Posted November 6, 2008 That looks like a great trip. Did you do it alone, or with a passenger?
tufftom4 Posted November 6, 2008 Author #4 Posted November 6, 2008 I did it alone, wish I had some other riders,it was a great time all the kids were going back to school so I had most of the campgrounds all to myself, no other campers it was great.
Ozark Posted November 6, 2008 #5 Posted November 6, 2008 Nice pictures. I have got to take my wife on that ride soon. Maybe next spring will work out for us and maybe we could put together a group ride . Glad you enjoyed it.
padavidj Posted November 7, 2008 #6 Posted November 7, 2008 Seeing that I live in Culpeper, I am just about a half hours ride to Skyline. My friends and I usually just go over the mountain on RT 211 to Luray. It's a great short ride and there are a lot of good eateries in and around Luray. By the way the pics look great, if you ever come back by this way give me a call or shoot me an email. Dave
Venturous Randy Posted November 7, 2008 #7 Posted November 7, 2008 Hey Tom, Thanks for posting the great pictures. That is a very nice looking 84 you have there. I am fortunate that I am about an hour from the BRP on the Tennessee side. My wife and I have ridden most of the NC part many times. It is a fantastic ride. I noticed you posted a picture of lake Toxaway so I know you were on Highway 80. Did you by any chance go down the other side of the mountain toward Burnsville? The reason I ask is if you did you would have gone thru one of my favorite campgrounds and that is Carolina Hemlocks State Park. It is probably less than five miles to the parkway and a neat place to camp and swim and especially if you like to snorkle. Again, thanks for the great pictures and it makes yearn for next summer even more. RandyA
tufftom4 Posted November 8, 2008 Author #8 Posted November 8, 2008 I did not go over to burnsville I did go to bakersville I was strapped for time so I did not see everything I wanted to.
steppenwolf Posted November 8, 2008 #9 Posted November 8, 2008 Oh to be on the road again.. thanks for the pics.
