FutureVentures Posted November 6, 2008 #1 Posted November 6, 2008 Oh man, I'm soooo jealous. Now I wish I had waited to buy my 2K MM, #515 model. This bike is mint, has only 7,141 miles and is the 1st of only 1500 of these beauties made! Ironically, it's in the same neighborhood where I bought and rode mine home from, Baton Rouge LA. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110308501978&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3ASS%3AUS%3A1123&viewitem=

FutureVentures Posted November 6, 2008 Author #3 Posted November 6, 2008 #110308501978 Search for this, awesome bike.
Yammer Dan Posted November 6, 2008 #4 Posted November 6, 2008 Thats the way it goes. Been several good looking 1st Gens go since I grabbed "UGLY" One right now with less than 20k that looks great. And Cheaper!! And several BLUE ones..
Cinderella Posted November 6, 2008 #5 Posted November 6, 2008 yeah someone posted about that previously....i think everyone is kinda watching to see how much it goes for...... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=29000&highlight=ebay i emailed him thru ebay also to see what he would say about the reserve here is the reply i got: We have the original sales receipt for 17,099, not including such extras as 6cd changer. Because of its great condition and collector's value the reserve is quite close to this figure but we don't want to reveal it--HOWEVER we will consider a reasonable Buy It Now Offer from a serious enthusiast. paperboy Posted November 6, 2008 #6 Posted November 6, 2008 I guess my question would be , why would anybody pay that kind of money for a nine year old bike. They haven't changed the bike any since then. With an new one at least you get a warranty, which is about the only solid reason to get one of these bikes. Is this "MM" edition supposed to have something special other than a plaque that tells you what number it is? Any gold plated parts? Just curious.
Breeze Posted November 6, 2008 #7 Posted November 6, 2008 The bike is going thru a broker. The reserve is at $15,000.00 that's dollars !! The bike is nice but come on..... this is the 2nd time it has been listed on Ebay, the first time it only had a bid of just over 8000.00 before it closed. The broker said they had a lot of calls and hits on the bike. Yes but $15000.00 ? Buy a new 2008 for that and be happy I am ! BREEZE
loehring Posted November 6, 2008 #8 Posted November 6, 2008 I think they're pushing for the money because it's collector's bike. I like to ride too much to have a collector's bike and the fact is that a Yamaha just doesn't have collector value. Sure it's a limited addition but when was the last time you heard or a Yamaha museum? A collector's Harley would go for a bunch but not a Yamaha. If you just have a thing for RSVs and have $15k blow money then have at it but if you buy it to ride the collector's value goes down with every mile. I agree, buy an '08 and enjoy the ride.

I paid just over half that for mine, wouldn't pay more. I liked the color scheme more than ANY of the others. I am constantly getting comments, inquires and praise about the bike. Tan seats and the retro look are hard to beat, IMO. Still, it would be dang cool to have the #1......
KiteSquid Posted November 6, 2008 #10 Posted November 6, 2008 It is a unique bike, but only a serious bike collector would pay more than Kelly Blue Book for it..... I would trade my 1950 H-D FL for it, but they would have to include a pile of cash with the RSV... sense it is NOT original from the factory as the CD changer has been added. What would that cost to remove, along with the other add-ons, to make it EXACTLY like it came from the factory?????
Monsta Posted November 6, 2008 #11 Posted November 6, 2008 I dunno...to me, tan seats just don't belong on a bike regardless of when it came off the assembly line.

I dunno, having lived in HI for a few years, I know it's hot there. Tan seats don't get as fryer hot in the sun as black does. Personal pref. thing, I like it better than black.
Monsta Posted November 7, 2008 #13 Posted November 7, 2008 Tan seats don't get as fryer hot in the sun as black does. Hmmm...you make a very good point! My fanny has been fried by my seat more than once!
