http://venturerider.org/forum/images/icons/icon1.gif They just about skipped GA

Given the omissions of great rides that aren't included in the official publication by the Department of Transportation. I think it would be a good idea if the VentureRiders put out our own diffinative tour guide of all of the great rides all over the country. We have enough members to cover a good part of the world.

Each of us could submit write ups of our own favorite rides in our home states, provinces and countries. they could then be compiled into a publication that could be sold through the internet and the proceeds could be used to support the Venturerider.org forum.

What do yall think?

Sounds good, you'll need to get in touch with Lowell since he's been everywhere. Lowell likes to take a ride down a road just to see where it goes. If anyone could tell ya about roads it would be him. I'm sure there's quite a few folks who could bring up roads where they live. Especially since there's a few states left out of that booklet.

I think that is a great idea...A section for sunday afternoon rides, a section for overnight rides and a section for longer rides. I'm in. I have some pics but will need to write up descriptions. Super idea.

I like the idea, but have you used this website? www.motorcycleroads.com/

I used it this year when I was planning out my trip to Colorado and it was great. I took their ideas for roads and plotted each one out on a Colorado map, then figured out my route to hit almost everyone of the suggested roads.

this is a great site if anyone hasn't seen or used it, especially if you don't know the State you are travelling to like I was when I went from Ontario to 4 points in Colorado. :)

Anybody ever try Mad Maps.

My brother and I use them in the states all the time. They are great. A little time consuming to manually download a route into a GPS but well worth the effort. We have had some pretty fantastic rides in Tennesee, West Virginia and Kentucky.

You can even buy a downloadable version for Garmins if you live in the USA. For some reason they will not ship to a Canadian Address.

2 friends and I gave the routes for Mad Maps in San Diego/So Cal area and got free copys of the maps that they had at the time. All of the routes thay have are good but there are much more to be found. I like the idea of a Venture routes. Rod
