FROG MAN Posted October 29, 2008 #1 Posted October 29, 2008 I was in a foot of snow on Snowshoe Mtn today 4800 ft. Coming across Rt 15 on Pt Mtn 4000 ft the snow was 8 inches with leaves in full color on the trees. Those golden, red, and yellow leaves look neat on top of snow. Oh yea the deer were moving everywhere. No scooters to be seen. New tires on the 4 wheel drive work great. :snow2:
Bigfoot Posted October 29, 2008 #2 Posted October 29, 2008 Sorry to hear this. I'm planning an all day Friday ride into the Mts of Va and WVA. Supposed to be 66 and sunny.
BoomerCPO Posted October 29, 2008 #3 Posted October 29, 2008 SNOW is one 4 letter word that I really dislike.........
FROG MAN Posted October 29, 2008 Author #4 Posted October 29, 2008 I'll be at the camp this weekend. I hauled a load of firewood last weekend. Now to bust it up. October went by quick didn't get anything done.
Sleeperhawk Posted October 29, 2008 #5 Posted October 29, 2008 Heck it is only a powedery substance, you should be able to ride through easy.
BoomerCPO Posted October 29, 2008 #6 Posted October 29, 2008 I'm praying for 2-3 weeks of Indian summer in November so I can keep riding. Has anyone tried using a Venture with a snowplow on the front?
mini-muffin Posted October 29, 2008 #7 Posted October 29, 2008 Muffinman has ridden in the snow, in WV. I'd like to see a pic of you with a snowplow on the venture. That would be interesting to see. Margaret
Yammer Dan Posted October 30, 2008 #8 Posted October 30, 2008 I rode in 6 in of fresh snow ONCE!! IT WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN!!

Guest maddabber Posted October 30, 2008 #10 Posted October 30, 2008 This storm caught us . There were tree limbs everywhere, hydro out, no traffic lights. what a mess. Took me a while to get the snow and branches off my truck to go to work . Maybe more tonight . Now I'm looking for some for a few days.
Brake Pad Posted October 30, 2008 #11 Posted October 30, 2008 took my motorcycle test on ice. The instructor, thought I was out of my mind, even showing up. did the course. even the figure 8 twice. I took the test in December Note: rode 38 miles one day, used feet to stop & down shift. made it home, crashed into garage doors; family found me with bike lieing on top of me:snow2:. In Elizabeth, New Jersey
Rich99 Posted October 30, 2008 #12 Posted October 30, 2008 I rode in 6 in of fresh snow ONCE!! IT WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN!!Had no choice. 14 of us were going up to Lake Tahoe for the 4th of July weekend and got caught in a freek snow storm. We took the long way in which if we had taken the short way, 7,300ft would have been better that 10,000ft. I hope that never happens again but we all seem to make it.

gibvel Posted October 30, 2008 #14 Posted October 30, 2008 I'm praying for 2-3 weeks of Indian summer in November so I can keep riding. We've got that here right now. It was 50º this morning and it's been in the low to mid 70s for the past couple days in the afternoon. Unfortunately, it looks like we get a cold front the first part of next week. Gotta love Indian Summer!!
