1BigDog Posted October 25, 2008 #26 Posted October 25, 2008 So sorry to hear this Peg. Even Zeus said he will say a prayer. http://www.petloss.com/poems/maingrp/rbowx.gifRainbow Bridge http://www.petloss.com/poems/maingrp/rbowx.gif Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown...

SaltyDawg Posted October 25, 2008 #28 Posted October 25, 2008 So sorry for your loss. It will take time to get over losing her. The good thing is you will never forget her. She will always be with you in your heart. We have lost four over the years and each one held a special place in our hearts. They sometimes visit me in my dreams and I always wake up with a tear in my eye and a smile on my face and I know it will be a good day for me. She will be waiting for you at the Gates of Heaven.
spear Posted October 26, 2008 #29 Posted October 26, 2008 Yo Yama-Mama. Damned shame. Thinking of you BIG time - so are my Cooper and Bess. Both border collies. We lost Molly (another border collie) suddenly about 2 years ago. Our dogs are our kids, since our real ones all grew up and left home. It puts a real big hole in your life for a while when you lose a pet. But like all such losses, I believe you don't dwell on what you've lost, but what you had the pleasure of having, knowing and loving for so long. Cold noses and sloppy kisses to ya.
Brake Pad Posted October 26, 2008 #30 Posted October 26, 2008 Peggy, She's was member of your family. remember her that way.

Stoutman Posted October 28, 2008 #34 Posted October 28, 2008 (edited) I am sorry for your loss. I have four pets, two of which are dogs, one fat cat and one stinky ferret. I was thinking about them today. I won a $25.00 gift card for Petsmart during our Unitied Way fund raiser. I was thinking about getting liposuction for the cat, but now after reading your post I think I'll buy my old dog a new bone, and maybe some peanut butter flavored bisquits (his favorite). Hoping the pain of your loss is offset by the smile you'll be sure to get whenever you remember your friend. Best regards, Edited October 28, 2008 by Stoutman
