1st gen gas tank "rack" chrome.

I noticed that some members bikes have a rack on the "gas tank" cover that actually covers the battery and air cleaner a little chrome rach that is similar to that on the trunk.

 

Is that an aftermarket item or is it a part of the royale trim out package?

 

I'd like to add one to my bike to make a tank bag easier to attach.

The tank rack is a rare and wonderful thing to have. Not available for the VR anymore unless someone knows of a cross reference from another type of bike.

 

There was one on eBay a while back and I think it brought over $150.00 bucks. It was the only one I've ever seen on eBay.

 

It was not stock equipment.

I was thinking about doing that too a while back, and was looking at some of the online cabinet makers. There are some nicely chromed or stainless drawer pulls in sizes that might look pretty good on the tank cover to hold things down. Some looked identical to the chrome bars in the fairing inserts above and below the oem stereo.

I just cant remeber the names of any of the companies right now.

We used to have a name for tank racks on the Triumph 650's . . . and it wasn't pretty!

I would think that it would, send them an email and ask for the center to center hole dimention and compare it to the width of your Venture.

I beleve that is what is on my venture and id dose match nicely with the trunk rack
