I'd suspect the CMU needs a good re-soldering. Sometimes when it's very cold the tach on my '83 doesn't move until I've been on the road a bit. I've never worried about it, and let it do it's thing.... At 25 years old it has a mind of it's own.... :)

Where's the cmu???:scratchchin:

He meant the CMS, located in the center of your dash........ It is a similar repair to doing the CLASS suspension E1 - E4 repair.

The Tach on my 84 has recently begun to move slugglishly for about 1 or 2 minutes especially when it is very cold as well.. I have not worried about it yet as it works fine after a few minutes. I may try cleaning it up with some product next spring. I also read an article on here some time back about the same problem.
