Guest sobe919 Posted October 15, 2008 #1 Posted October 15, 2008 I have a '98 Royal Star 1300, 20k miles, lightly driven, no synthetic oil ever used, clutch slips intermittently, replaced clutch spring and fibers, steeles were mint, still slipped, started looking at clutch master cylinder, I flushed and bled the clutch fluid. I ran it hard with no slipping for 15 minutes then it started slipping again, any ideas? I'm stumped guys. Thanks for any input!
GeorgeS Posted October 15, 2008 #2 Posted October 15, 2008 Check the Lable on container of Oil you are useing. Does it say " Energy Conserving " on the Lable ?? IF, so, try oil that Is Not, marked " Energy Conserving " This has been discussed many times on this web site. It might be your problem.
Guest sobe919 Posted October 15, 2008 #3 Posted October 15, 2008 I'll have to check it out. Even if it was the oil, it still doesn't explain why it's slipping at different times...or does it? Thanks
loehring Posted October 15, 2008 #4 Posted October 15, 2008 Yep it does. If the oil says that it will happen.
Guest sobe919 Posted October 15, 2008 #5 Posted October 15, 2008 I check the oil and it doesnt say Energy Conserving . The oil that im using is kawasaki 10w 40 motorcycle oil.
