|Does any one know if a 1984-85 1200 venture backrest fit on a 1992 venture 1300?

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I say it will fit just fine. I assume it came with all the necessary mounting hardware.

There were two main types... one has a "L" hook at the lower part of the backrest arm (used only on the 83-85, I believe), the other is the more popular round pivot type that clips into diamond holes in the lower bracket... Here's the later

The lower bracket for THIS type IS different for the 83-85 and 86-93 because the mount area is different...

If it is the Venture-Line backrest, the backrest is the same but the mounting brackets are different. The 83-85 have different mounting points. You may need to get a set of 86-93 brackets.

 

Not sure of other brands.

You should have popped this question before bidding on the backrest. The 83-85's have a different mounting bracket than the later 86-93's. And the brackets are obsolete. I'm not even sure if the earlier brackets can be modified??? Sorry....

Go to your local welder anything can be fabbed with metal or aluminum. get some new brackets made:2cents:

I have one but don't know how to mount it.
