Silver Bullet Posted November 18, 2008 Author #3 Posted November 18, 2008 sorry it took so long to get back--the basket that I took out was supost to be a I basket. and I can't tell that it is'nt. but the only # on it is 26H01 t-3. these are the only # on the thing. so i'm wondering which one it is. I cant find any one who knows the # of the I basket ....so if any one who has an I basket happens to know the # , would you mind giveing it to me?? thanks jack:think:
BoomerCPO Posted November 18, 2008 #4 Posted November 18, 2008 I just dug this up....Hope it helps you. In addition to the normal replacement part, an "I" size primary driven gear is available (4XY-16150-09-00). The "I" size primary driven gear is not used in normal production. It was produced to reduce the normal gear whine noise the Venture engine emits and some customers find annoying. Installation of the "I" size primary driven gear results in slightly greater gear lash. We have found this additional lash, in some cases reduces gear whine noise or it may move the peak noise level to an rpm not normally used while cruising, either of which can be more acceptable to a customer.

Rick Butler Posted November 19, 2008 #9 Posted November 19, 2008 Guys, The alpha character is not stamped onto the back side of the primary driven gear, but scribed with a roto tool. Or whatever you would use to scribe your name on a tool. The difficult part is that you have to take the basket and gear out of the bike so you can see it on the back side of the gear. Hope this helps, Rick
