roadwarrior Posted October 10, 2008 #1 Posted October 10, 2008 I already have the K&N air filter so I hope the one I have works.Any suggestions on installing the Billet air cleaner cover?
Tom Posted October 10, 2008 #2 Posted October 10, 2008 Its just a basic install,do one at a time as you can use the other for a reference if you get confused..other than that enjoy, they are nice.
eazyduzzit Posted October 10, 2008 #3 Posted October 10, 2008 Let me know how it goes. They're the next shiny goodies I wanna buy. Post a pic.
ahoutzer Posted October 10, 2008 #4 Posted October 10, 2008 RoadWarrior, If you're having trouble and if you have time today, come on down. I did mine a couple of years ago.
Sunman Posted October 10, 2008 #5 Posted October 10, 2008 They really do look sharp. I plan on getting them next year, I think I already blew my whole accessory budget for this year. And having the bike painted over the winter, is going to cost me more $$$ I am also on the fence about which type to get, the smooth, or ball milled. Lots of nice pieces to be had that is for sure. The only thing I would be prepared for with your install, is the rubber gasket that seals the K&N filter to the airbox. Did you get new ones? They were permanently attached when you installed the K&N's, if you have to remove them, be careful. I think they are required for the filters to be effective. Just a thought. Sonny
got2mnytoys Posted October 10, 2008 #6 Posted October 10, 2008 Been 3 years but seems like I put the filters on and replaced the plastic with the chrome
