Maxxis Tires

I see lots of discussion regarding Avon Venom, Metzler Marathon, and Dunlop Elite tires on the forum. I was wondering if anyone has used the Maxxis brand tires, and if so, can you give an evaluation of your experience. Thx.

Maxxis on the ATV's. Bighorns on the Rhino and Lynx on the Wolverine. Good in these applications.

A buddy of mine has used Maxxis. He likes the ride and handling, and that they have WWs in our sizes. But he only gets around 7000 miles out of them. Pretty poor IMHO. I'd take a Dunlop over a Maxxis myself.

They are just cheap Chinese tires. A few people like them, a few hate them. I have never heard anyone say they lasted well.

Your life depends on that rear tire--- Not a good place to try to save a few bucks--

 

Have you ever had a blow out at 70MPH?? I have!! It was not a fun day---

 

I reccomend the Dunlop E-3.

I ran Maxxis's on my ole XJ1100 and had no problems, but it is a lighter bike. I think on the Venture, they would wear rather quickly.

I bought Maxxis Classics recently and love the look and the ride is fine so far. Searched through here and didn't find any negative feedback on them.........till now!

 

Now ya tell me.

 

Anyway, have about 2k on the front, still haven't had time to change the rear, hopefully this weekend.....long story.
