BuddyRich Posted October 2, 2008 #1 Posted October 2, 2008 Or learned how to ride it first http://www.tgdaily.com/content/view/33853/113/
mini-muffin Posted October 2, 2008 #2 Posted October 2, 2008 Guess he should have had the guy that usually rides the thing do that. They don't tell you how he was after they took him to the hospital. Margaret
Redneck Posted October 2, 2008 #3 Posted October 2, 2008 I would expect nothing less from a government employee.:rotf: That thing does hall ass.
Marcarl Posted October 3, 2008 #4 Posted October 3, 2008 Didn't much care for the sound of the mufflers,,, guess Harley will never build one,,,,,,,,,,,,now if it had a CD player????????????
AZSpyder Posted October 3, 2008 #5 Posted October 3, 2008 No helmet, lucky he didn't mash his mellon on that beast. From time to time I have looked at electric vehicles. The technology is there now that would cover my commute but the price stinks. I had looked at some of the stories on that bike on the net. It is very impressive. Would be a neat simple to maintain toy to have fun on the drag strip with. Jerry
tomephil Posted October 3, 2008 #6 Posted October 3, 2008 Not sure I would like to strap my legs around a radio staton. But dang, that puppy can go... Tom
Eck Posted October 3, 2008 #8 Posted October 3, 2008 By the look on the girls face thru the whole movie, she wasnt to impressed with any of it.....until the accident ... But yep, that bike does haul butt........!!!!!!!:thumbsup2:
Guest ezornes Posted October 3, 2008 #10 Posted October 3, 2008 Harley has purchased the patents for the killacycle, but they're R&D dept. has added a few special touches, 1. considerable oil leaks, but now its oil filled with pvc's like the old transformers, and 2. they installed a huge vibrator in it so the whole bike shakes all its own bolts apart. 3. they have definately slowed it down to HD speeds, which are much less than normal bikes. 4. last but not least, they are trying to figure out how to cover the entire bike with leather. P.S. someone said something about a government employee in the earlier post to this article, as I was reminded by a moderator they have children too. and maybe they have to feed them also....
Mariner Fan Posted October 3, 2008 #11 Posted October 3, 2008 Killacycle? Interesting choice for the name!
Freebird Posted October 3, 2008 #12 Posted October 3, 2008 There are a lot of electric bikes out there now. From scooters to crotch rockets. Whether any of us like it or not, that is going to be the future. Once they get the range of them increased then we will see them everywhere.e Power and torque has never been a problem. From zero to full blast is not very difficult with an electric motor.
Billet Posted October 3, 2008 #13 Posted October 3, 2008 Don't know if I would name a bike Killacycle but I guess Ampacycle just doesn't have that ring to it
Squidley Posted October 3, 2008 #14 Posted October 3, 2008 I must be sick because I am laughing my rear off! What a dope!
mbrood Posted October 3, 2008 #15 Posted October 3, 2008 (edited) Looks like a classic case of brain lockup... "I'm holding the front brake but that's not holding the bike back... I know, I'll let go of the brake and..." Edited October 4, 2008 by mbrood
86er Posted October 4, 2008 #17 Posted October 4, 2008 Didn't much care for the sound of the mufflers,,, guess Harley will never build one,,,,,,,,,,,,now if it had a CD player???????????? If Yamaha were to buy the rights, they could put a cassette deck in it!!!
Guest Ken8143 Posted October 4, 2008 #18 Posted October 4, 2008 Wow - what a burn out - pretty impressive except for bad end - why a burnout at that location??? I wonder if Don is right - can this be the future?
RSTDinPA Posted October 4, 2008 #19 Posted October 4, 2008 With a side car, and some special attachments that would make one helluva golf cart.
CrazyHorse Posted October 4, 2008 #20 Posted October 4, 2008 That thing is stupid fast I wanna try it.
Schlepporello Posted October 4, 2008 #21 Posted October 4, 2008 And his last words were, "Hey y'all! Watch this!"
GeorgeS Posted October 4, 2008 #22 Posted October 4, 2008 I'm wondering if either of those two idiots, ever rode a bike with more then 65 HP ???
Schlepporello Posted October 4, 2008 #23 Posted October 4, 2008 What I'm wondering is what the controls for the bike must be like. We all know that for our bikes we have two brake controls and a clutch which could be used to prevent such a stupid mistake. But on an electric motorcycle such as this, there is no need to have an engine running prior to the throttle being advanced. Twist the throttle, the electricity hits the motor and off you go. I don't know if this bike has a clutch mechanism to completely disengage the motor from the drive train or not, but if not, I'll bet someone's wishing it had one for sure now. And I'm willing to wager that the driver was hitting the brakes for all it was worth. But if there's no clutch, the motor's already spinning. That's internal momentum that's got to be stopped fast.

You forgot to mention the 'on/off' switch!
