Guest 05RSMVTEXAN Posted October 1, 2008 #1 Posted October 1, 2008 I am about to purchase some Dunlop Elite IIIs. This tire comes in a radial I've heard. Is this okay to mount on the 2nd Gen. Venture? What are the pros and cons? Thanks.
royalstarjac Posted October 1, 2008 #2 Posted October 1, 2008 Yamaha recommends bias ply tires for the RSV. Personally I stick with their reccomendation.-Jack
KiteSquid Posted October 2, 2008 #3 Posted October 2, 2008 So does Avon. I would stay with Bias ply tires.
sarges46 Posted October 2, 2008 #4 Posted October 2, 2008 And...I dont believe you can get the correct size radial for the rear tire anyway.
waterbug Posted October 2, 2008 #5 Posted October 2, 2008 Why is it that radial tires are better for cars but not for bike? I was wondering why the RSV doesnt have radials on them from the factory anyway?
Ponch Posted October 2, 2008 #6 Posted October 2, 2008 "Why is it that radial tires are better for cars but not for bike? I was wondering why the RSV doesnt have radials on them from the factory anyway? " I've wanderwed that for awhile. someone said the 1500 Golwing was Bias ply only, but the 1800 GW is radial only. Don't understand why. The darksiders are running radial rear and bias front. I'M SO CONFUSED! Ponch
wm.butler Posted March 3, 2011 #7 Posted March 3, 2011 RSV Gen 2. Need rear tire. Very unhappy w/dunlop D404. Any feedback on Kenda Kruz K673?
miller47 Posted March 3, 2011 #8 Posted March 3, 2011 I think its because the bias tire is in theme with the cassette player"Why is it that radial tires are better for cars but not for bike? N3FOL Posted March 3, 2011 #9 Posted March 3, 2011 True confession on this end too. I honestly 'also' don't understand what is the deal with Radials and Biased Tires in terms of moto install or on a car install. The good part is, I mase sure I have bias tires installed on my Bike as well. Please go Bias on the Venture. Ride Safe.
