Has anyone ever used or know anything about chargeGUARD which is supposed to help keep your battery charged should you want to run two sets of warm weather gear. I know zip about the electrical system but been told that the Venture doesn't have enough juice to run 2 sets of Gerbings so I was researching and found the chargeGUARD...it sounds too good to be true so before I invest I was hoping I could get knowledge and/or advice from those that know...:hurts:

Thanks in advance....

Well, it will offer you some protection from running your battery down but don't be under the impression that it will give you more wattage to run your gear. The stator will only put out what it is designed to put out. If you draw more from the battery than the stator can replace then you are going to run the battery down. All this thing does is monitors your usage and will shut down your gear if it detects that you are pulling down the battery too much. It will not increase the output.

Thanks for the help...and if I take in all the advice given, it appears that if I want to run 2 sets of heated gear...it would be best to get the chargegard for monitoring purposes as well as a switch for the heated carb and/or an upgraded alternator. Sounds like I have a bit of work to do before winter hits...thanks again everyone....
