frankc Posted September 29, 2008 #1 Posted September 29, 2008 Just installed a set of passing lights on the 08 Venture but now I have a slight whistle I didn't have before. Did this happen to anyone else? I'm sure it's the lights cause I didn't add anything else. Could it be possible the fairing is the culpret? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
Eck Posted September 29, 2008 #2 Posted September 29, 2008 Sorry, but I have never heard of this before.... Wonder if one of the light rings is letting the air in somehow...it is about the only place air can be caught...ever place else is a smooth surface.. You could try placeing scotch tape all around the edge of the light glass and the light ring to seal the ring and then go for a ride to see if it stops.. Have no other ideas at this time as to what it could be....
VTirelli Posted September 29, 2008 #3 Posted September 29, 2008 If you put visors over the lights, they might be whistling. I put a pair on that had small holes on top, once I put the solid Yamaha ones on, it stopped.
2WHEELSFORME Posted September 29, 2008 #4 Posted September 29, 2008 I had it once on another bike. I put a piece of tape over the head of an allen type socket head bolt and it stopped.
