ddoggma Posted October 18, 2008 Author #26 Posted October 18, 2008 These tires are a huge differance from the ones that came off "metz" Marathons. The bike feels great and I hope to get to ride it soon, while its still a little warm out. But, It's ready to go,as far as I can tell.
Yammer Dan Posted October 18, 2008 #27 Posted October 18, 2008 The Brickstones were so loud on my 2006 Midnight that I actually thought I was regaining some of my hearing. Man them puppy are LOUD!!!!!!!!!! Tried Dunlop 404s they seem to be alot more quite and do the job. I vote No for Brickstone ... sorry Margret. Steve aka Bubber Is that what that noise is?? Mine is bald as a babies butt now just haven't had time to swap it. Got a Kendra already mounted waiting for it. I did not like the feel of the Brickstone always felt like I was on Ice!! Didn't trust it. If I was buying it would be AVONS!! Sorrry Margret!!!
Yammer Dan Posted October 18, 2008 #28 Posted October 18, 2008 Should have read all of thread before posting.... I still would go with AVONS. Best feeling tire I've rode on but haven't given Kendra good chance yet. FrogMan has a few miles on one.
ddoggma Posted November 30, 2008 Author #29 Posted November 30, 2008 I went and got her inspected the other day, she passed . But the mech said "your only running on 3 cylinders" I kind of thought I was, but I didn't know how much getup and go one of these had. I also cut off a little on the ends of the wires and re-sat the caps, checked all four for spark. I also tryed to clean the fuse holders in the fuse box. It broke as soon as I touched it...lol replaced it with a new type fuse,[need to rebuild the whole unit] And she fired right up Had to readjust the idle and man she flys now. I had no idea how fast these bikes are. I ran her up to 6 grand 1st,2nd and when I got to 3rd I was doing 85mph In like 7 secs, needle was climbing at a alarming rate...lol I eased of and looked for the exit. Man what a machine. I now need to tune the carbs, I will be reading up on it, to see if I can get it close until I can have one of you carb gurus take a look at her. I think I saw a Maryland Maint day....if so I will be in attendance.
DragonRider Posted November 30, 2008 #30 Posted November 30, 2008 I think you ought to cut "Troublemaker" some slack, she does know more about 1st gens than quiet a few of our male members........Of course she is married to the 1st Gen. Genius............... OHHHHH....MARGARET...just when I went and put you on top of my "know's her stuff" list...you had to go and ruin it. NO BRICKSTONES...NO NO NO. You are right about the others though.
