hairman Posted September 28, 2008 #1 Posted September 28, 2008 On 1999 Venture Royal Star what is the plug in the trunk for? Is this for the intercom system? How does the intercom system work? I have never had one on my bike and am not familiar with it. Do you have to buy a intercom box to put in the back?
halfwitt Posted September 28, 2008 #2 Posted September 28, 2008 You have a plug on the left side under the passenger seat for an intercom and the plug on the tank for the driver. No additional equipment (other than headsets) required!
Freebird Posted September 28, 2008 #3 Posted September 28, 2008 Also, the '99 did not come with a plug in the trunk. It sounds like a previous owner at one time had the optional CD Changer mounted in the trunk. There is a cable that comes with the CD Changer that runs from inside the fairing to the trunk or saddlebag, depending on where you install it. I once had the changer mounted in my trunk but eventually got rid of it and went with an MP3 player.
hairman Posted September 28, 2008 Author #4 Posted September 28, 2008 I have a plug in (5 pin) on the handlebars, one on the back of the drivers backrest, and I also have a 13 pin connector in the trunk. So what can the one in the trunk go to?
hairman Posted September 28, 2008 Author #5 Posted September 28, 2008 Thanks for the information. That answers my question. So what is the name of a good headset for a half helmet?
Long Tall Posted September 28, 2008 #6 Posted September 28, 2008 (edited) Hairman: I asked a lot of questions before getting my headset for my half helmet...Got a lot of positive replies about this one...I have had now for a couple of months and it works great for me... http://www.sierra-mc.com/proddetail.asp?prod=IMC-HS-B40 Also...Check this Thread http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=26073&highlight=headset George in Virginia Edited September 28, 2008 by Long Tall
