mini-muffin Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Here's a few pics of the car on the bike. I'm in one of the pics went for a short trip in it. Didn't really like the ride he said he has more to do, so I told him he should have waited to take me for a ride. Anyway the first dog in the car is our youngest Bernie she didn't want to stay in the car and jumped out. The other dog is our old girl and she went for a really short trip out one driveway and in the other. But she seems to have liked it. Hope he gets it all fixed maybe I'll give it another try then. Margaret
skydoc_17 Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Hi there muffins, I hope the ride gets better for you Mini, It sure does look cool on your VR! Jean has been asking me about some other way to take long trips lately. She is due for back surgery in Jan. and can't get comfortable in the saddle for long trips. Please keep us posted as to how the ride is as it may be our next option. Passenger Safe, Earl and Jean
seforeman Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Very cool... I love the side car. Wonder if any one has put one on a 2nd gen. Enjoy and ride safe. Stuart

StarFan Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Nice looking side car Margaret. Specially like the kind of old design - matches the bike perfectly. I am sure your husband will enjoy riding in it

SaltyDawg Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Very cool... I love the side car. Wonder if any one has put one on a 2nd gen. Enjoy and ride safe. Stuart Yes, 1rooster has one as well as SteveW http://www.venturerider.org/forum/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=1281
RoyalPain Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Very nice indeed!! Please don't hold back on the details concerning what you like about it once the bugs area worked out. I'm just dying to get my hands on one while my boys are plenty young enough to enjoy it!!! Pain:7_6_3[1]:
krome rose Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Roomy enough for a Boston Terrier, too!
mini-muffin Posted September 28, 2008 Author Posted September 28, 2008 Heck I got a pit bull in it so I could get more then one boston terrier in it. :rotf: Margaret
Redneck Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Hey thats nice. Great idea to you can carry tool and spare parts it even hold the bike up so its easier to work on.:rotf:
86er Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Looking GREAT mini! (The side car too! ) I can see a paint job matching the lines on the car with the '86 colors would look really schaweeet!
Steve S Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Here's a few pics of the car on the bike. I'm in one of the pics went for a short trip in it. Margaret Dang, The title said the sidecar was "attached with pictures". I wanted to see how the Muffin Man got it to hang on just using pictures. It looks like he used bolts... :confused24: :rotf: :stirthepot:
mini-muffin Posted September 29, 2008 Author Posted September 29, 2008 Yeah well the pics won't hold it on by themselves. :rotf: Oh thanks Todd. That's the plan to paint it black at least first, then worry about adding any details I think is what Jeff's thinking. At least if it's black it matches better then now. Margaret
1rooster Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Looking good, now ride it up here and lets hit the twisties.Maybe just maybe my 2nd gen can keep up with your 1st gen.
mother Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 painting it Black:think:, i would have thought you would be painting it pink. looks good, i wanna go for a ride in it one day. cheers, Scott:big-grin-emoticon:
dray Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 well now Jeff dont let em bother ya about the side car as we know it has two great functions it keeps the bike upright when you come to a stop and forget to put your feet down and also it stop the bike from falling over when you get off and dont put the kickstand down:thumbsup2: dray
greg_in_london Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Well if that's a Velorex, it's not like any Velorex I've seen on this side of the Atlantic. What did you mean about the ride ? Is the seat or sidecar suspension worn, or have you ridden it and found it heavy to steer ? Oh yes - photos, but hardly anything of the fittings you tease...
mini-muffin Posted September 30, 2008 Author Posted September 30, 2008 I'll see if I can get the other pics you want. As for the ride I felt everything as we went in the road. I've never been in a sidecar so I have no idea what it's suppose to feel like. Jeff's adding more support to the front. I can feel the shift in the gears the car seems to move closer to the bike and then back away. I don't know if that's normal. Jeff said he just has to get use to shifting with the car on it to make it smooth. Hope that helps I have no idea how to describe what it feels like. I really have nothing to compare it with. Can't help on the make of the car, Jeff will have to answer that. Margaret
1BigDog Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Just wait till Jeffy "Flies the Chair"............
BEER30 Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 I think when all the bugs are worked out , Mini will have a new ride for herself . Now no need for her toes to touch the ground at stops . I can also see the hack painted in Tony Stewart's colors , with new license plates "MINMUF" on the scoot and Muffinman taking naps in the hack ! BEER30
mini-muffin Posted October 6, 2008 Author Posted October 6, 2008 Not sure I want to ride with the hack. I'm thinking I might need to get serious about my own ride. Of course might come in handy when the weather gets cold. Would have been nice for that one cold ride to SC for the meet. Margaret
