DANJ Posted June 14, 2007 #2 Posted June 14, 2007 Just a little testamonial from a feller that was lucky enough to pick up a set. Got about 800 miles on mine and they look great and sound SWEET. DJ
endo Posted June 14, 2007 #3 Posted June 14, 2007 How loud vs. stock? I have downpipe tips on my stock exhaust, anyone know if they'd still fit? They attach with spring hooks only, so the length and diameter of tailpipe compared to stock would be required to keep them. Thanks for any feedback...

Louder and lower sound through the gears. Bark a little when you get on the throttle hard. Relatively simple to install. You need longer mount bolts and a few washers as spacers. Make sure you have new gaskets before you begin. See my photo gallery for photos of mine. DJ

To answer one of your questions - no, your extensions will not fit. There are three different styles of Macs, straight cut, side baloney cut and downturn. They all are a consistent size all the way back though, approximately the same size as the thickest part of a stock muffler. I've had them for seven or eight years now and am very happy with them. Squeeze Posted June 15, 2007 #6 Posted June 15, 2007 Hi, i'd be definatly interested, if they are still available. Do you have a Paypal-Account ?

Dick It has been a while Dick. MAC doesn't offer the straight or slash cuts for 1stGens any longer. As far as attaching the stock turn down tips, the MACs are already turned down. So clean up your old OEM tips and sell 'm on Ebay.:cool10:
MikeM8560 Posted June 15, 2007 #8 Posted June 15, 2007 theese may be the sway to go when i need a new set, Has anyone fit them on an 83-85 ? I wonder how they would fit the cut out in my bumper? http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b22/MikeM8560/Venture%20XVZ12/th_1984YAMAHA1300e.jpg
Moakster Posted June 15, 2007 Author #9 Posted June 15, 2007 They should clear the bumper as they are slimmer than stock mufflers that flare out near the end before the down turn tips.
