Condor Posted September 28, 2008 #3 Posted September 28, 2008 Anyone know where I can get an antenna for my 86VR mine broke as I was driving down the freeway. If you want to replace the OEM they appear on Ebay from time to time. Otherwise I sure other board members will chime in with a few suggestions on aftermarkets....
Squidley Posted September 28, 2008 #4 Posted September 28, 2008 Dave, Might be just as easy to get a Firestik and change it over, then you never have to worry about it again. It's adjustable also for the tuning of the CB
Jus Monkeyin Around Posted September 28, 2008 Author #5 Posted September 28, 2008 Will it still work for radio??????????
Squidley Posted September 28, 2008 #6 Posted September 28, 2008 Will it still work for radio?????????? Absolutely I have had them on 3 of my bikes
saddlebum Posted September 28, 2008 #7 Posted September 28, 2008 I too am interested. what does the firestick look like ? ist it fiberglass or Metal ? and would you connect it in with the existing setup (eg. connect to the end of the existing cable) or run it seperatly?
Skid Posted September 28, 2008 #8 Posted September 28, 2008 Here is the thead this year when I changed mine out.... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24485&highlight=cb+antenna
skydoc_17 Posted September 28, 2008 #9 Posted September 28, 2008 A brother VR member, DavePa has one on Ebay as we speak. Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/yamaha-Venture-royale-CB-Radio-antenna-mount-Cable_W0QQitemZ170266209680QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item170266209680&_trkparms=72%3A727%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14 The last time I looked the bid was $10.00 It is a direct replacement for your antenna. It also comes with the cable. It might not be as slick as the "firestick" but it's a lot cheaper. Just my 2 cents. Ride Safe, Earl
