Kregerdoodle Posted September 27, 2008 #3 Posted September 27, 2008 Dang.. sorry to hear the Power is not on yet.. we didn`t loose power untill the 23rd, then it would come on at 11:05am and go off at 6:00pm this went on for 2 days...hhhmmm looked like rolling black outs to us, amazing that after a call to the P.U.C. the power has came back on and so far is staying on. I really hope you and all of our neihbers get their power back on soon and start getting their lives back on track..

Tom Posted September 27, 2008 #5 Posted September 27, 2008 Don,I know its been rough for you guys.I delivered water and other supplies the day after it hit the Houston area and People just dont know.It blows my mind how everyone down there seemed to start pitching in and cleaning up.I only had one lady complaining that the government wasnt helping enough but we talked and I told her I had been all thru Houston,Port Arthur,Beaumnont and I was amazed at how fast the workers were getting organized and the massive size of the area was remarkable.I know where She was coming from though at that time it seemed all was hopeless, but as usual You all through helping each other, are coming through it! Proud for you guys! When you find the time,I have 3 Extra Bedrooms and your own baths so break away and come down and we will meet up with a few guys and ride some around here. Tom

mini-muffin Posted September 29, 2008 #7 Posted September 29, 2008 Amazing how exciting getting your power, water or phone service back on isn't it. I remember when we lost all or ours. We all got excited when the water started to flow after another county sent us a generator to run our water plant. This was a few years back before I met any of this group. Glad things are looking up for you. Margaret
Gambler Posted September 29, 2008 #8 Posted September 29, 2008 Don Glad to see things changeing for the better, We are thinking about U & family up here in Canada. Best of Luck Gambler:15_8_211[1]:
sarges46 Posted September 29, 2008 #9 Posted September 29, 2008 Wow...I just cant imagine being so long without those things. Up here we get the blizzards that sometimes will shut down the power for a bit and sometimes the occassional frozed water pipe in the older homes..but nothing like that. Our homes and infastructure arent usually wrecked by storms like that. I am glad things are coming together for you guys. Sarah may complain a little about school...but being with her friends again will be good for her.
gunboat Posted September 30, 2008 Author #10 Posted September 30, 2008 hi all sarge i can't complain i lucky to still have a house standing. folks on the gulf coast are the ones who have it the worst. news said the beaches in galveston will be open this weekend. i'am not going down there. when you see bigbob tell him hi for me. best wishes to him and his family. best reguards don c.
nance56 Posted September 30, 2008 #11 Posted September 30, 2008 Glad to hear things are looking up. I can't imagine all of the devastation in the area. Now maybe things can get closer to normal.
MAINEAC Posted September 30, 2008 #12 Posted September 30, 2008 Hey Don glad to hear all is well there... Sometimes these things bring people closer together... I've seen it over the years with Blizzards and Ice Storms..
