cpudoc Posted June 13, 2007 #1 Posted June 13, 2007 What are the basic settings for my carbs. I have heard that there are starter settings on the sync screws and idle screws.
rhncue Posted June 13, 2007 #2 Posted June 13, 2007 What are the basic settings for my carbs. I have heard that there are starter settings on the sync screws and idle screws. On the idle screws they are 2 to 2.25 turns out from a lightly closed position. There really is no starting place for the sync screws while the carbs are on the bike but you could probably remove the air cleaner and hold open the slides to be able to see the butterfly. You could then turn the adjusting screw for that carb until the butterfly just closes. Then you could use the main idle adjustment to get the bike to idle good enough to sync. Dick
justfun1 Posted June 14, 2007 #3 Posted June 14, 2007 I pulled out the diaphrams and used the sync screws to adjust all of the butterflies so they were almost closed. When I started the bike they were close enough to sync. I would be a good idea to check the diaphrams anyway. Mike
