Anyone know of some good clamp on footpegs that will fit crash bars that are less than 1"? The crash bars on my bike are 7/8", or around there, and I just have this feeling that 1" clamps will need some... umm... help in staying where I want them. The only ones I've been able to find are from MC Enterprises, called Holey Pegs, that are made for 7/8", but when I checked today, JC Whitney no longer carries them. That's what I get for waiting so long.

And I know I could make some of the larger clamps work, I'm just being picky here. :rotf:

Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions on places to look for non-standard sized pegs, let me know!

Wait a second... Beemer guys don't have highway pegs... I think it's in their rule book right after the don't wave to non beemer riders rule...

This Beemer rider must be the exception. Not only do I wave to everyone, but I'd actually prefer to put non-BMW parts ::GASP:: on when possible to avoid spending $300 for something someone else makes a whole heck of a lot cheaper! :rotf:

That also could be why I can't find pegs to fit, since they're Touratech crash bars.

Can't you just put your feet on the jugs???

Or buy these....

The "tupperware" sticks out too far to comfortably rest my feet on the heads. I can get about half a foot on there... heh. I've also thought about getting a set of pegs like that, but I think they would interfere with my crash bars. See here. That's why I was hoping to find some simple clamp on ones, but I didn't realize it'd be such a hassle. If all else fails, I have some heavy duty gasket rubber (in sheet form) that I will put around the bar and then clamp on to. Which really will server two purposes... one to protect the bar and the other to make it a tight fit.

But it's the latest in German engineering, in conformance to Euro-styling !!:confused07:

That, and I don't think the engineers had "footrest" in mind when it came to the heads. Or maybe they did... who knows! Anyway, they do also make pegs that replace the spark covers... like these:

Again, I do have options, they just run me $300+! Now I know what it's like to be a Harley rider who only wants Harley accessories...

How bought using a pair of passenger pegs with a chrome 1 inch pipe clamp.

I got a pair of pretty cool ones at a bike salvage place and bought a couple clamps bent them around the bar and added nylon lock nuts. It worked for me on my old XS1100 and they really looked nice.

I know you don't want to get a lot of money tied up in them and I to am pretty frugal.
